Well at the end of last month I quit my job…and I am happy to say I have another one. In fact I had an interview the day after golden week and started later that week…. I am still working in an international kindergarten, but the pay is better, the staff are really nice and the owner isn’t Japanese. Not that I have anything against Japanese business owners….Japan is full of them obviously, and it works well…but I am used to the way foreigners run things and I guess at this stage I feel more comfortable with that.
I am still doing my internship three afternoons a week, as well as about 8 hours of private lessons a week…and I am really busy, but I kind of prefer it this way. And I don’t work weekends unless there are events for Being A Broad where I do my internship…
The school is called Summerhill and it is in Roppongi area where there are lots of ex-pat families with money ( that can afford to pay 100 dollars a day for 5 hours of school per child). The classes are bigger there than my old school, but kids are the same everywhere…The last place I was at I loved the kids, and I love the kids at my new place also, but I am happier where I am now because of the staff situation and management situation. So far it is all going well….
