Today we asked the kids in Moon class at school to draw pictures. First we read a book, called ” If you give a mouse a cookie” and basically it goes on to say then the mouse will want milk, then ask for a straw, then a napkin, and a bath and a bed to nap in etc….We wanted the children to try and remember what happened in the story. As they were drawing we would walk around and ask them to describe what is in the pictures….Here are some of the results….(The children are all aged between 3 and 4)
The above portrayed the story quite well…
We also got some more, which i found way more amusing. Will make them smaller, but click on them to open them in another window to get a better look at what a creative class i have! This is just a small selection…
It reminds me a little bit of a book that we had at our house when i was younger. It had pictures, drawn by children from all over the place, of families. How children viewed their families…It had comments of what the children would say…One that always stuck in my mind was ” we have a baby, it’s as big as a brick!”

oh my! that is the first english book that i have ever read in my life. it was quite tough since i didn’t know a single english word. i remember another girl in the class explaining with gestures what’s happening in the story. ahh, good memories. i was 10!
Yuki, you should draw a picture of what you remember from reading it….see if you come up with a “A horse running that your mum wants to eat” or something similar!!!I think i remember reading it as a child too, or something very similar…it definitely had a cookie, a glass of milk and a straw…
