Japanese study…
Bought a couple of new Japanese study books in Shinjuku on Sunday while i was there looking for a new yukata for summer (found one!). When i was buying them i thought…”Laura you should actually start studying again…” because i have so many Japanese study books, and grammar books and kanji books and reading books and i have not open one since i left Australia in January….when i was thinking this to myself i have to admit i didnt’ think i would get around to it very quickly. But i surprised myself because on Monday night, and every night since then i have done over an hour of study. In fact as nerdy as it sounds i am kind of enjoying it…I use Japanese everyday, but i tend to use the grammar i know and manage to explain myself most of the time without using a dictionary just by talking around what i want to say. Also, when i make mistakes, Shumpei doesn’t correct me (he claims the mistakes i make are cute???…I am sure that other Japanese people don’t feel that way). So i am making an effort, and since Monday i have done about 6 hours study…Hopefully i will keep it up over the summer, and then move on to my next proficiency test….I just have to decide whether i will do it this December or wait until next December 2007….
Above is what is in the pile beside the bed…which is stacked up so high that if there was an earthquake they would surely fall…what is scary is that they are just some of the books i have used over the last couple of days…I have more!!!
