Tokyo fruits and other stuff…

Today was another day pretty much free for me. I decided that while i have been eating mikan(mandarins), grapes and plums occasionly for my fruit intake i needed a bit more…so i went to the supermaket to buy ingredients for tonights dinner (tandoori chicken salad with a yogurt and mint dressing!!!) i also picked up some stuff to make fruit salad. Not having a lot of space in the apartment (Ie…any bench space) i was forced to cut it all up on a little table while in the bedroom…

It looked like this…

And while cutting food up in the living/sleeping area sounds a little strange it is often quite normal for those living in one bedroom apartments. And the end result was so good that i didn’t really mind much…

Trust me it tasted better than it looks….

Dinner was also a success….nice and refreshing to have salad and fruit for dinner cos it was so hot today!

Mind you, today shopping, for the fruit, salad ingredients + some tuna, bread and a kit kat (my three must haves after mandarins) it came to about $70 aussie dollars (6000yen)…So definitely not something i can do every week!

hey laura, I hope you can do some cooking when you get home to Brisbane, the photo’s looked very impressive, I’m sure it tasted as good as it looked. mum xxx

  2. When I first came to J I destructively thought that I could eat like an aussie queen – I ONCE made a salad for three people that cost $108 aussie dollars…now its just simple tofu, negi and bean sprouts
your salads look delish- i am off to the fruit market now you have inspired me to make some scrumptious summer sangria white with lots of yummy fruit!
