Oil in a can…

I am sick of using oil, even if it is olive oil from Italy, in all cooking. Why the hell doesn’t Japan have oil in a spray can like back home?

I wonder if i could sneak some onto the plane home?? Or is there anywhere in Tokyo you can get it?

    No, I don’t think you can get it in Japan. My friend Kurihara Sensei who is here in Brisbane right now couldn’t get over it when he first saw it in my kitchen. Did you do Japanese at QUT, Griffith or UQ?.

    no way girl are you serious?!
    This is Japan… the land where almost anything is incinerated, everything is over packaged and you can water your shop front or road to your hearts content…but oil in a spray can well now that is simply environmentally unfriendly!

    katie->
    I originally did Japanese at Griffith but most of my Japanese study was done here in Tokyo! Are you studying also? Last year when i was back in Brisbane a friend came to live with me for a bit and he could not get over oil in a can. He thought it was genious!

    sushi-> The Japanese are a envionmentaly friendly bunch aren’t they. Individual plasitc bags for each item you purchase at the bakery, then you go home, and have to seperate the garbage into 7 different bins?! I say bring in OIL IN A CAN!

    You could probably bring it back if you carried it in hand luggage (I don’t think you’re meant to stick pressurised stuff in check-in). So far I have brought vacuum-packed steak, mangos, Napisan and huge amounts of caramello koalas back from Australia and customs never seem to mind.
    Have a great trip! See you when you get back.
