Cherry Blossom Adventures

The question remains. Should one blog after a few drinks or should they wait until the following day…time will tell.

This morning, at 7:10 i woke up thinking the alarm was going off. But no, that wasn’t it….lately our alarm goes off at 8:00am. Was it Shumpei’s giant alarm clock? No. What was it. Then i saw the flashing red light above our front door….this indicates it is the fire alarm.

I wake up Shun

me: “shun, shun, it is the fire alarm…wake up”

Shumpei wakes up, but is kind of out of it but he manages to stand up and follow me into the kitchen and watch me pointing at the flashing red light.

He stops and smells the air.

Shun: ” It’s ok, i don’t smell smoke. Anyway, we live on the second floor. If worse comes to worse we can get out in a hurry…or at least jump”

He then climbs back into bed and falls back to sleep (while there is a giant noise going EEOOEEOOEEOO) I sit on the edge of bed watching the light thinking…well i cant’ leave him here. Should i go downstairs? Should i wake him up again? Should i go out alone and see what is happening while in my summer PJ’s? After another 3 minutes the alarm goes off and i think “oh well” and go back to sleep myself for another 45 minutes.

I mentioned this to some at work about how Shumpei just went back to sleep and they all replied

“typical Japanese”

I still have not quite figured out what this means exactley…

I am off to Australia to visit the folks and friends on Sunday…hope everyone enjoys their summer. And, to anyone in Australia. Look forward to seeing you soon!!!
