The were growing up, the boy went to boarding school, hated it, then one night after the father had beat his son with a bull whip (I know it is only a story but can you beleive that?? So horrible), Alison went to help him and she was caring for him and they slept together and Alison got pregnant. Ian killed himself and never knew. Alison brought up the baby even though the abusive father of Ian wanted to get custody and she had to leave her family on the farm to move to Sydney to escape. She was about 16 when she gave birth, but the story is about her from about age 13 to 18 i think. Great story but really sad (has a happy ending though) Suzy: I want to borrow the book! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! Enny and Jen: You should both read Anne of Green Gables. It is a classic!!!
