Recent random thoughts & stuff…
- I wish the new baby born into the imperial family yesterday had been a girl even though i know it was probably gender selected during an IVF process. Not that i claim to know much about about the imperial family here but i was shocked that Shumpei didn’t know that there had been female emperesses in the past that didn’t get there through marriage or by becoming a widow.
- Cooked steak tonight for the first time since been back in Japan and realize we need steak knives. After thinking about this for awhile i decided we wouldn’t have anywhere to put them. Decided to use chopsticks to eat my steak like the Japanese do!
- On hearing that Steve Irwin, the crocodile hunter was dead, i automatically thought it was PR stunt ( I know i know terrible thought!). Several days later no news of it going away so I think he must be actually dead. I feel sorry for his wife and young family.
- Went to buy a more work looking diary (I didn’t think snoopy would cut it!) today and was having a hard time finding a style i liked. Then i thought about it, it would be impossible to get a diary in Australia where the calendar starts in September or October so really i was lucky they had any styles at all. Choose a nice plain pink one in the end.
- Saw a photo of Suri Cruise…so cute. But i hate to admit the rumours going around are beleivable. She does look slightly asian.
- I am sick of us being stared at when we catch the train in the morning together. Just because I’m foreign and he’s not and we speak in Japanese. Also another train rant- I hate the people that get off the train at each stop wait for everyone to get back on then jump on at the last minute so they have the better spot against the door.
- I wish fetta cheese wasn’t so expensive here. I wish a lot of things about food here…
- Sent off two more packages for gimmeyourstuff today and i really hope that the people i sent them too enjoy their stuff. Also looking forward to receiving my packages. It is a bit like Christmas surprises.
- I wish i wasn’t so lazy and would actually write the article i am meant to be writing instead of blogging about stupid stuff.

I think there is something a bit off about Suri Cruise, it’s just SO much hair for a baby, and it seems so thick and dark for someone about 4 months old. I swear she has more hair than me now. She just doesn’t look like a real baby, she’s too old or something.
Maybe she is a robot or something?
The train thing perplexed me when I was in Japan in 95. Still, I’m looking forward to (eventually) going back there and wandering around the back streets and less touristy places. However, I don’t think only knowing how to say “Konnichi wa”, “Ichi biru”, and “Sayonnara” will quite cut it.
