On a roll…
I have posted consecutively over the last couple of days and have decided I don’t want to let the streak end just yet. Problem is was home all day so nothing but study and a bit of internet to keep me busy and trust me nobody wants to hear about that.
Yesterday on the other hand…apart from enjoying Ray Charles in Starbucks, I managed to do all my Christmas shopping for Shun and go to a cooking class and make Christmas cake with Suzy. I am unsure as to whether Shumpei ever reads my blog so I can not tell you what I got him…I shopped so early because yesterday I also bought Christmas lights on sale and a very small Christmas tree (as in 1 foot big) and wrapped his presents before he got home from work and put them under the little tree (which lights up)…I am teaching him about Christmas gradually. It is a little hard though because he has not grown up with it…
Christmas here is a time for couples and friends while New Years is a time for family where as in Australia and I think in most Western countries, it is the opposite. We will be going back to his parents place probably on the 31st for two nights but we will be at the apartment for Christmas.
In the two weeks leading up to Christmas we are going to do christmassy type things like go listen to carols or go see the lights at Tokyo station…maybe even some ice-skating (OK that is not Australian Christmas but I always imagined in Europe at Christmas time they go ice-skating) maybe even go see Santa. I am not sure really what goes on in Tokyo at Christmas time though so will have to do some research.
I will post a photo of our tiny Christmas tree another time. Oh and the little decorated cake I made with Suzy…It is nice to go out for lunch or coffee with friends but it was also really great yesterday to do something different like a cooking class…Plus it was free!! So thanks to Suzy for inviting me!!
PS: I was going to write a post about how I cut open my finger while making dinner and maybe take a photo and post it but to tell you the truth all the blood freaks me out even so I decided against it. But yeah I sliced through the top of my thumb while making dinner and couldn’t get the bleeding to stop. It has stopped now and is covered in three band-aids…It bloody hurts too!

Ewww, glad you didn’t post a pic of the thumb!
And it sounds like you’re fairly well on the way to an organised Christmas. I still have to get a couple of gifts.
I too am glad there is no thumb pictures, I am so not cool with blood and/or guts.
You are so organised having done Christmas shopping, I really haven’t thought about it…but then again I am poor so there is not a lot I’ll be buying anyways
I like tiny Christmas trees, ours if fairly big so I don’t think we’ll put it up again this year. We are not big Christmas people.
what’s going on with your 365 days? carn, hop to it!
Boysenberry- It must be fun shopping for miss B!! Christmas with children around is the best. My parents always spoiled us so much…I hope you do the same for miss B!!!
Jen- The finger looks gross today. I am so poor too which is why I did my christmas shopping now when I had a little bit of money come in from my old job…That money is all gone now and now I couldn’t afford to buy christmas presents if I tried. How can you not be be big christmas people?? I love CHRISTMAS!!
Mars- I gave up. When my computer stuffed up and wouldn’t even turn on I decided I couldn’t be bothered. I give up on things easily. I might start again some time. I still want to see yours though!!
