Chop…

Bbq_roma_street_005

Well after months of procrastinating I booked myself in for a haircut for tomorrow morning with a Western stylist near Harajuku. I am just going to get a cut but leave the colour since It is so damn expensive!!

Haven`t exactly decided what I am going to tell them to do with my hair except cut it off. I haven`t cut my hair since August and it is usually fairly short so it is down mast my shoulders now when it is out. But I am thinking something like this (minus the colours so it won`t have the same impact obviously…and won`t scare away my new employers when I go sign my contract tomorrow afternoon.

What do you think? It is kind of hard to see it but you get the idea I suppose. This photo was taken pretty much exactly a year ago!!

I’d say any haircut that makes you smile like that is probably going to be a bit of a goer (that’s good by the way).

So, young Lulu, have you worked out what I look like yet?

I rather like letting HD just do as they please, as long as you set a few boundaries, about the stuff you totally don’t want, I’ve found it can turn out really awesom, if they are decent.

I know it’s not the point but I like your colors in that pic, the length looks good as well, nice and flicky at the ends. Post a pic of the end result!!

Adam- I always smile like that…lol. My mouth is huge. I have figured out what you look like…kind of how I imagined.

Jen- I am a bit like that with hairdressers as well. It has to be low maintance and I have to be able to pin back the bits at the front if it stars annoying me. Those are usually my boundaries…and they work well in Australia with my usual hairdressers…But here…It is different. One of the reasons I chose a Western stylist this time!! I love the colours as well…I just can`t afford to do it at the moment. I will probably wait and get it done in May while in Australia. My hair is still kind of reddish at the moment anyway.

Mars- Thanks mate. As I said to Jen, I wish I could manage the colours again. I do think it would scare the owner of the new school I will be working at though! hehe… Most people that work for companies in Japan can not have dyed hair…Shumpei`s hair is dyed brown, but his company actually doesn`t make him wear a suit either so is fairly lenient. Other people aren`t that lucky!

Even girls can’t dye their hair??!?!

That’s a deal breaker for me, I need to have dyed hair, I cannot be mousey blonde, I have not been for years!

Jen- Girls can dye their hair…It depends on the place. Usually if it is just slightly brown they don`t mind. A friend was working for JTB (Japan Travel Bureau) and was asked to keep her hair black though…

I have dyed hair now and it is not a problem, but my dye job at the moment is fading and it is not as outrageous as I usually go. Last year in Australia it was similar to the photo although underneath it was almost black. Plus blond at the front and when first dyed the rest was BRIGHT red. I know it sounds crazy but it turned out ok…

As a foreigner, they don`t know what colour your hair ismeant to be but somehow I doubt they beleive mine was bright red, blond and black!! lol…I am pretty sure at this new school once I suss it out more that dye will be allowed…I know the Japanese girl that was working there had brown hair, obviously not natural.

I am sure you would be able to dye your hair as long as it isn`t too outrageous!
