Little Miss Sunshine…

Everybody should watch the movie called Little Miss Sunshine. I just did, and if was fantastic. I can understand why is it is in the top 10 movies of 2006. It was really funny (and strange) but the story behind it was really beautiful….(about a little girl and her family that travel cross country to get to a beauty pageant so that she can compete and the trouble that they go to get there.)

I have never been in a beauty pageant (that I know of) but it is enough to put me off them for little kids. Make-up on really young children is kind of tacky. I can understand dress-ups, with a bit of makeup, but beauty pageants are outrageous. I kind of feel the same about cute baby pageants. Because all babies are cute in their own way…and it seems so harsh (I suppose the babies don`t know it though) that you can judge one baby over the other.

Maybe I would feel different if I had been in one and liked it, but this is my opinion from watching movies and TV and from what I have heard. I am very informed on the issue…haha.

But yeah, public service announcement, see the movie!!

I saw it and I loved it!

I did think it overcheese a lil at the end of the stage bit (trying not to make spoilers!) but I had tears streaming down my face!

(PS - my dad won a ‘beautiful baby’ contest when he was younger - though he came from from Queanbeyan (jus realised proddly no one will get the relevance of that…))
