Trains…
Train travel is a big part of most people`s lives for those living in Tokyo. We don`t have a car, nor do we need one so if we need to leave Kichijoji there really is only one way. Train. I had gotten used to them. I can catch the train in rush hour and not have too much of a problem. I used to get mild claustrophobia, (inherited from my mama), but I got used to been jammed into carriages against people I didn`t know…or getting shoved around when the doors opened. It became a part of my life….something that couldn`t be avoided.
Now, because my job is in Kichijoji, I hardly ever catch trains. And it is nice. It has been 8 days since my last train trip. And I won`t be going anywhere this week so it will become at least 2 weeks between train rides. And it is fantastic. I think one of the reasons I don`t mind getting up for work each day is because I know I don`t have to catch the train. I love walking to work!!! I think not getting jammed into trains is making me a happier person and it is probably better for my health (Despite the recent cold!!!)

Walking to work would be nice, especially in the winter when it’s all nice and crisp!

Jen- I am enjoying the crisp mornings and afternoons. I think walking that little bit everyday outside is good too. Not catching the train also means I don`t get as tired. By the time I used to get home from my last job I was exhausted.
The cold is clearning up thankfully but I still have a cough and croaky voice. Mornings start off Ok, but by afternoon story time my voice is dissapearing!!!
