Autumn in Japan…

Autumn in Japan is one of the best times of the year….as it is getting colder and colder too I think this will be the last weekend that we can say Autumn is still here. I like living a place that has seasons…Brisbane is kind of the same all year round with just a slight change in temperature!

Last weekend I went for a BBQ at Showa Kinen Park in Tachikawa and got to take lots of photos of the colourful leaves!!! Here is a couple of my favourites but you can see the whole set

One of my favourite shots of the day..

Ginkgo trees over the park

Maple leaves up close

It was nice to have a BBQ too. It was actually with a family that James knows….he works with the father. I love that while Tokyo is a really big city but still has beautiful parks close by!

There are a lot of things I love about Tokyo I will miss it when I go back to Australia next July for a year. But I know I will be back and spending the year in Australia, the more I think about it, Is going to be a lot of fun too.

It’s so fun to see your pictures of Japan! We have a gingko tree in our backyard, just to have a small piece of Japan in Illinois. Aren’t those leaves just beautiful? I like the Japanese Maple too, so we’ll have to get one of those some year. In the first picture, it’s like you have gold crowns on your heads!

Oh my, the path of yellow leaves completely tunneled by over head branches of the same leaves… how magical.

I just found your blog… so I’ll scroll back through archives…. but in the meantime, are you working in Japan? Going to school? On a sabbatical?

    Happy Holidays!

Katie: I love Autumn in Japan…although it has definitely come to an end now…yesterday gingko leaves were flying everywhere and it was FREEZING

Belezza: Thank you. In Australia we don`t really get an Autumn so it is nice to be somewhere that I can really appreciate it.

    Sushizume: Thanks D!!!

Angela D: The path of Gingko trees is great isn`t it? My old university had the same trees at its enterence an it was fantastic.

I am working in Japan as a kindergarten teacher. I studied here when I was 19 for one year then came back to be with my bf two years ago. I have been in Japan 3 years altogether!
