Mandy: I don`t remember mrs shield bringing them in....I do remember getting dressed up in a yukata/kimono...Oh and I remember the day she wore two different shoes.

Felicity: thanks for commenting! I love all the holidays here, even if it doesn`t mean a day off work, the history and stories around the stories are always interesting!

Clea: The cake was delicious! I hope one day to own dolls like in the pictures for my daughter if I have one!

Kelley: Yes, but there is no AUstralia day here and that is a shame. Plus Christmas here is a bit of a bummer....looking forward to next Christmas in Australia already! I guess each culture has the plus points!

Megan: Thanks for commenting. I had read somewhere that it was International Women`s day...Thankyou for alerting me of it again. I have a killer cold, otherwise I think I would have organized a night in with my girlfriends...Good luck with your afternoon tea, i hope it goes off without a hitch!

I love the celebration days that are taken so seriously in Japan. Girls and Boys Day is so lovely.
Are you aware that this Sat, Mar 8, is International Women's Day? To you and your women friends in Japan I wish a happy day without any discrimination or violence. We are celebrating here with an afternoon tea get together and lots of talk.

I remember when I was younger and a Japanese family moved into our town and I became friends with them... I do remember how they had 'Girls Day' and I remember when they were teaching me 'Origami' and to this day I can still make a 'crane' and it was through these people I learnt of the story 'Sadako and 1,000 Paper Cranes'... take care

Cool pics! I remember Mrs Shield once bought in a hinamatsuri display and I thought it was soooo cool and wanted one for my Barbies - is that weird considering I was 9?!?!

Hope you are feeling well! It's sunny but cold here in London and I'm willing spring to come along quicker! xxx
