- I think the rain came all the way from Japan just to wash out Brisbane. It has rained on and off ALL day and it is supposed to rain all day tomorrow too. Luckily it is supposed to fine up for Saturday- which is good news for Nay & Naoki with their wedding on Saturday.
- Talking about Nay & Naoki- We all met up for dinner last night in Sunnybank for Chinese food! It was great. And it was lovely to meet Naoki at last. Poor thing was a little exhausted as he had only arrived in the morning but Shun was so happy to talk Japanese with a native speaker I think. Even though we speak in Japanese most of the time (although his teacher scolded him today for this apparently. She was shocked to find out his fiance was a native English speaker yet we didn`t speak in English and she told him to make a deal with me about speaking only English one day and Japanese the next…I hate to say it but I know it will never work! We will always revert back to Japanese). I am very excited about the wedding on Saturday. I have met some of Nay`s family before (mum, sister, sister`s fiance, sisters kids etc etc) and it will be nice to see them all again as well as be there to witness Nay & Naoki`s special day! I promise to upload photos on Sunday!!!
- I had weight watchers tonight, and despite being good most of the week (well not last night for Chinese obviously!) I put on .3kg. I have now lost just under 7 kilos since coming back to Australia but I really feel it should be more than that. I think I need to step-up the exersise this week perhaps?!
- I have been extended at my current temp job until at least mid October. But it could be longer. I am quite happy there so that is good. I got an email from the hospital I worked at before this job today asking me if I wanted a job for 6-12 months in a similar position to what I was doing as another student coordinator position has come up but I am going to write back and tell them no. I feel they screwed me around a bit last time and I am not sure I want to go back anymore. It is nice to be wanted though
- Have been thinking a lot about when we go back to Japan next year. I really miss it. I would go back tomorrow if given the chance I think. I like been close to my family and I am glad I came home because I needed a bit of a break but I miss it so much! Shun & I are been talking about dates, and where to live and look for an apartment and what I should try to do for work. Eventually I want to be able to work from home doing something- not exactly sure what but I guess the options are pretty limited for me unless I pass level 1 of the proficieny exam.
- Tonight after weight watchers we went to puppy school. She is actually quite a good puppy- she can sit, shake hands, drop, give, wait (This is a little tough for her when she is hungry though!) and this week we will work on rolling over and high five! It was the first time I went with my dad to puppy school but it was interesting. It is really obvious that the teacher loves dogs (she has 2 of her own) and the puppies REALLY love her. I think it also has something to do with the fact she is the treat lady!
- I am going to a dress maker next weekend about getting a wedding dress made?! I am anxious about it because I don`t really have a clear idea of what I want which makes it difficult (and difficult for the dress maker I am sure!) and then the week after we are meeting with someone about a cake! Yummy!
- In case you are keeping track- this is day four of me posting everyday for Nablopomo!

7kgs is awesome. Don’t get too disheartened by a slight gain, I think everyone has a few over time, that is why it is so good that there is no time limit and you get to just go at your own rate!!
I look forward to seeing the pics form saturday- make sure you post them straight after the wedding! LOL! Pass on Joey and my love to Nay on the big day!
PS- Can I add you to my blogroll next time I get around to updating it?
I am missing Japan too! You are lucky that you can look ahead though and know that you are going back. I’m wishing that were the case for me too!
Midori is right, 7kg is heaps of weight. Imagine how many 250g bars of butter that is (28!) and how much room that would take up. Very impressive!
Re: dressmaker – try and take some pictures along with you, because then they are more likely to be able to understand what you do and don’t like. Even if you take pictures of things you DON’T like, or things where you like just one part of the dress. For her bridesmaids dresses, my sister found a dress at Review she really liked but it was too expensive and the wrong colour, so she tried it on, took photos in the fitting room and then took the photos to the dressmaker who made something similar.
I miss Japan too… not sure when we’ll get back to visit, I hope it’s not too long.
Just piping up to agree that 7kgs is a massive acheivement!
Looking forward to the wedding pics plus more news of your wedding dress too:)
Ha ha ha Glad to meet another kokusai couple with Japanese as their language. DH has awful times with people who assume he speaks English a he’s married to me. Poor guy.
As for missing Japan my suggestion is do something totally Australian. Eat fish and chips on the foreshore out of newspaper or something. Then think ‘Wow! I could never do this in Japan. Lucky I’m in Brissy!’ Works much better than trying to recreate Japan for yourself. (Says someone who spent a day trying to make the perfect meat pie and ended with a messy kitchen and nothing close!)
