Time…

I had a great time over the weekend. I promise a post tomorrow or Tuesday with photos from our weekend trip. It was nice to get away and most importantly my Dad had a great time.

I have only JUST managed to get through reading all the blog posts I missed since Thursday (had very little internet time on Thursday and Friday as well!), all the comments, checking my email, facebook and forums. I really must cut down on internet time.

I can`t believe September is almost over (and posting every day will also be over for me!)…less that 3 months til Christmas and less than 8 months til our wedding and less than 9 months til we return to Japan. Time is flying by.

Abbey was ok while we were away, we couldn`t take her with us, but luckily my brother and my mum both came over to visit and feed with her during the 36 hours we were away.  She was definitely happy to see us upon our return though!

I was going to write up a bit blog post with pictures but I am too tired and I want to spend at least a little time tonight studying Japanese since I haven`t done any this weekend. Kanji is still doing my head in- I have no idea how I manage to speak Japanese just fine yet reading anything above an 9 year old`s level is impossible.

I am also going to spend a little time before bed watching ainori- I love that show!

I know what you mean about kanji!! I usually try to make up a little story about the character to remember it but sometimes that makes it even harder cos then I have to remember the little story, how to write the kanji and the way to read it!! Glad you had a fab trip away. I’m a bit behind in reading blogs too as I was celebrating my own b’day this weekend!

I’m happy you enjoyed your trip, will look forward to hearing all about it.

I have also been thinking about trying to use my computer less as well too. So definitely some food for thought for me as well. Thanks. : )

And happy to hear Abbey was fine, I knew she would be. Sweet of your mom and brother to look in on her. I bet she must have given you a 100 licks/dog kisses when you returned!!! Ha ha ha. : )

Girl Japan - I will get them up eventually! My camera battery ran out half way through Sunday so I couldn`t take as many as I would of liked but luckily Shun didn`t mind me using his camera a bit too. I almost always have a spare battery charged but I didn`t this time…that will teach me!

Jessica- I hope you had a good birthday!!!!! I hope you celebrated with a bang. Kanji is a bit of a bugger- it is definitely the point I struggle with the most. My speaking, grammar, listening etc I am usually ok with but when it comes to reading and kanji my scores go right down :-( I really need to work on it more!

Gina- Thanks for stopping by again! I promise a proper update tomorrow on the trip once the photos are actually uploaded! I definitely spend too much time on the computer- it is my addiction for sure. I should definitely try to cut back. We were very worried about Abbey while we were away but luckily she was all ok….she definitely was very excited to see us when we came back and gave us a lot of sloppy kisses!

You know in college I studied Japanese before I switched to Chinese, mainly because I felt like Chinese grammar was waaaay easier. However, in return I got a whole language of nothing but Kanji!! I feel your pain. I know loads of characters at this point, enough to actually read adult level material anyhow, but I STILL run into unfamiliar characters on a daily basis. Messed up isn’t it?
