Best day…

Yesterday I had the most amazing day (until about 8pm but that is a different story for a different time)- Since I had the day off work I slept in until 8am, got up & had some breakfast before spending half an hour on the computer checking emails and blogs. It was so nice not to have to rush off anywhere.

I got up, dressed in some comfy hooping clothes before heading down the road to “Got A Go” a boutique my mum`s friends have owned and run for years. I get most of my wardobe there and have done since I was about 14 or 15- it is an expensive place to shop though so I tend to buy only really good (read: expensive and usually above my budget) one of a kind type pieces or cheap simple pieces for work. Since we are nearing the end of the season more than half the store was 50% off so I went a little nuts….. Plus with my birthday coming up I also put a couple of pieces out back for mum & ad to get me! I came home with two dresses, some tights, a pair of pants, a singlet top and a cardigan! I did well- and the best thing was that most of the clothes were a size down than I would usually wear and the shop was quite busy (due to the sale) despite it being a Friday morning and many people who I know in passing actually commented on how much weight I had lost which frankly made me feel fantastic. I wore one of the dresses (plus some new shoes- forgot about them) out to dinner tonight with Shun (we went for Japanese- at a place called Sono at Porstide- fantastic if you live in Brisbane!)

I headed up to Southbank with my hoops in the car (my new clothes in a bag on the floor) and I arrived nearly 2 hours before I had to meet D for some hooping but it was okay because I found a delicious little tea shop where I could sit and read and write and wait until 1pm, the designated time I was to meet up with Deanne. The tea was amazing and since I have cut down on coffee so much (have had 2 in the last 10 days!!) and switched to herbal tea (mainly green tea or rasberry & hibiscus  is another favourite) the little tea shop was a great find.

I met up with D at 1pm as expected, enjoyed a fruit smoothie to replenish and refresh before starting on the hooping. It was technically a lesson as D is a qualified hoop dance teacher and all I can really do with my hula hoop is spin around and around. Oh it was so fantastic, I learnt so many new tricks some which I caught on to fairly quick others I will have to practice more by myself over the coming weeks. D is an amazing teacher and her love of hooping is evident in all she does…

Here are some pictures from our day out in the sun at Southbank hooping away…

    You look good!!

    And hooping looks like fun!

Man, I wonder if there will ever come a day when I can walk around outside in lycra….

It’s great when people notice your weight loss isn’t it? A real boost. Go you!

Btw, I think I know the tea shop at Southbank! It is pretty cool! I need to get back into drinking tea! I’ve gotten into a bad habit of using a tablespoon of sugar in my coffee which is not good for the waist line!

Sassymoo- Thank you! :-) I still have a bit of weight to lose but I am getting there.

Heather- Hooping is heaps of fun- I would not wear lycra unless it was for exercise but it is very comfy for hooping and walking in! We should hoop in Nagano!

Katie- Thanks! I am not sure if he has really noticed- I mean he has compared to when I was in Japan but I don`t think he is phased either way- I am happier though! That tea shop is awesome and I am definitely going back.

When I drink instant coffee I pop an equal tablet in it sometimes- sometimes I go without. Usually at a coffee shop I just drink it without cos the coffee is so much better than instant!!!

Wow you look great! And it actually looks pretty neat, hooping that is.
Glad you got to shop and have fun! Nothing better than that.

You’ve got a really great guy in Shun. He loves you for who you are not how you look :) That’s how it should be! I’m really glad you are feeling so good about yourself! I’ve also cut down on coffee shop coffee too! But I always put two sugars in! I should make an effort to cut down to none! I’ve been taking my own instant to work. I’ve never liked the taste of equal so I guess I should just try cutting down to half a teaspoon. I went so far as TAKING some fancy T2 fruit tea to work, but I haven’t gone as far as MAKING some and DRINKING it!

You look like you had an absolute ball!! You will definitely have to teach me some of those new tricks of yours when you get back to Japan. We will have to go hooping one day. Although… I still haven’t gotten around to buying myself a hoop! I still plan on doing it… but I am so slack!!

By the way your weight loss efforts are really paying off – I can see the difference from the last time I saw you to now! You go girl! You are an inspiration!

Definately an inspiration. When I’ve popped the bunster out hooping might have to become my new pastime – not sure about the coffee decrease though. I need some vices to get through Granny K filled days. You’re looking fab and I can’t wait to see your wedding pics in a few months. Wahooo – you must be so proud of yourself. I’m proud of you and I haven’t even met you !!

Definitely can see a big difference between the two pictures. You are looking really healthy and vital in those pics….awwww so jealous hearing of what you’ve been up to in Bris! I miss the Parklands and it looks so fabulously sunny!
