Knitting again…
While the days in Brisbane are not really getting any cooler (yet!) the nights are starting to cool down a little so I have pulled out my knitting needles and wool and have started knitting again!
I am working on a scarf that I started last year for my friend Junni. It is a mottled red colour to match his snowboard gear and I just heard from another friend the other day that he is in hospital at the moment with a broken arm from a snowboarding accident. Apparently he was very lucky not to have had more serious injuries. I know he will be up boarding again next winter so I am aiming to have the scarf finished before I returned to Japan to give to him. He put in this “order” for a scarf a long time ago so I really should try to finish it!!! I am also wishing him a fast recovery!!!
Am also knitting a couple of cute baby things for Sarah`s bub- now we have a confirmed girl I can satisfy my pink and purple knitting cravings! Currently working on a little hat.
Pictures to follow sometime soon!
Perhaps I will go really crazy and pull out the sewing machine again this weekend!

I aspire to being able to knit/ sew/ crochet/ quilt at a level where giving my creations away to people would not burden them….
Until then my girls get all my craftiness.
And Winter? In Brisbane? Puhlease!
I can not sew well enough to give somebody something I make but I hope I will be able to one day!
As for knitting- well Junni asked for the scarf and I am not sure if Sarah wants knitted stuff for her bub but she is going to get it anyway! hehe! I am a better knitter than sewer though for sure.
I am sure the things you make are great- your girls love them right?
I have a half finished scarf under my be… need to finish it for winter!
Me too.. so not a BETTY but Lulu, I am being so lazy on my sewing, all that hoopla about buying one and I have not even done anything with it yet….
I bet your one-off creations will be fab!!!
Ohhhhhhh thank you lulu!!! I bet she will be so cute in it!!
I’d really like to pick it up as a hobby myself.
Ah pink and purple clothes rock. I have been indulging my pink and purple cravings by buying stuff for Jenn’s baby-to be and my goddaughter. It is alot of fun isn’t it?!
I’m knitting too! (well, trying to remember how to! Would you, if you have the time, please perhaps do a little tutorial for absolute beginners on how to cast on and how to read a basic pattern?! I’d appreciate it so much!!)
And hopefully if my bonus at work comes through, I’m following your example and signing up for sewing lessons!
xx
Nice story about how you met Shun. Where were you when you met? A friend’s house, a party, by accident somewhere?

Phil- I taught myself to knit again by using knittinghelp.com and watching the videos there. Plus a book called Stich & Bitch was extremely helpful. I am not so good at reading patterns myself yet but looking in the book and on that site helps a lot. Good luck!
