Phil- I taught myself to knit again by using knittinghelp.com and watching the videos there. Plus a book called Stich & Bitch was extremely helpful. I am not so good at reading patterns myself yet but looking in the book and on that site helps a lot. Good luck! Mande- I met Shun in Japan at my university dorm.
