101 things update for March…

We are well into April now so I am behind on updating my list but better late than never. The end of March marked a year since I started my 101 things in 1001 days list…

Sadly, I did not get much things crossed off my list this month- in fact a couple things I am crossing off actually happened in early April but so I don`t forget I will mark them off now.

24. Organize and buy stuff for wedding favours

Done- and we have decided what we are doing and are getting made as I type (not by me!) but I will help Melinda (who is making them) next weekend as time is passing quickly and it is now only four weeks til the wedding. Eek!

33. Maintain the weight loss for at least six months (2/6)

Two months down!

39. Stop biting and picking at my nails (still in progress)

I am happy to say I am doing a lot better with this- not well enough to cross it off but I am hoping within a couple months I will be able to cross this off for good. They are much better than they were and I don`t bite them anymore but still pick at them when I am bored/nervous.

54. Make at least one trip out into the country with Shun

We went to Maleny & Montville last weekend and it was lovely- photos and post to follow!

70.  (Buy) The Rei Shimura series by Sujata Massey

I have now purchased them all- number 3 & 4 are on there way to Australia right now so have not yet read them but I have them!!! I can not wait to read them although won`t be able to finish the series until we are back in Japan I imagine. Then I will be able to re-read them all again! hehe

73. Meet at least five other bloggers in real life (4/5)

I can add another to the list- I met Cassie from Sassymoo a couple of weeks back as previously mentioned!!! Now just one to go (I probably won`t stop there though!)

79. Keep track of my blog stats and referrers by checking at least once a week (for a year)

The year is now up! Sometimes I get completely random searches that bring people to my blog- the most recent surge of searches has come from “pee cone” something I wrote about when I first started blogging!

93. Go to the cinema 20 times (7/20)

I went to the movies and saw “Mall Cop”- it was okay but I wouldn`t recommend it. I can not beleive in the entire year I have only seen seven movies at the cinema- I need to get out more :-)

100. Make a budget and stick for it to 6 months (no longer in progress)

Sadly, this is no longer in progress as we have more than blown it I think- we will sit down and work on it again in a couple of months once we are back in Japan.

I know I only do these updates more for myself than anything but since this marks a year of the challenge so I guess it is a bit of a milestone of sorts- If I counted correctly I have completed 65 out of 101 things- so well more than half and I still have a approximately a year and eight months left to complete the others. There are a couple on there which I now know might be unachievable in the time frame (pass level 1 of JLPT is the one that comes to mind as does get paid to write something, or sell something I have made as well as a few others) but I intend to keep my promise to donate $10 to a charity for each of the items I have not completed after the 1001 days. I just need to decide which charity to donate to…

I must thank-you for your idea for a goal list. It inspired me to do my once a month goal to work on daily which has been fantastic and empowering. Cheers to being the catalyst.
    ps
I’m due Aug. 19 and I hope to meet you when you visit Sara in Niigata.

Lily- That would be great!!! You & Sarah`s bubs will be so close in age- do you know if you are having a boy or girl yet? I may have missed the announcment.

Goal lists are great arn`t though- I am a list lover!

Wow I am always so impressed by how much progress you have made – I really think you are going to to end up not donating that much to charity. (But hope you pick a great one to donate to!)

Looking forward to next months update ;)

You have accomplished so much! I’m always really impressed with your list, way to be productive girl!

I like to look at my blog stats, recently I was really weirded out because there was a search that came from the term “child nudity!” Of course there is no actual child nudity on my blog, so whomever it was I’m sure was disappointed (it came from the fact that I talked about once how photobucket deleted pictures of naked babies, like their first baths and stuff)! It is definitely interesting to see what leads people to my blog. By far the greatest amount of traffic comes from having the link in my signature on various forums, so maybe you could think about joining some more communities and pimping your blog that way. :D

By the way Lulu, there’s this cool site — http://www.websiteoutlook.com/ — which tells you how much your site is worth. I plugged yours in there and it says it is worth over 4000 USD, not bad!

I can’t believe we have been doing our 101 things in 1001 days for over a year now… I really didn’t think that it would be possible to cross off all of the things I had chosen but I am making a big dint in my list – just like you!!

I agree with Sara that you might not be donating very much money at all!! You are definitely on the way to succeeding!

    Congrats!

You have perseverance darling. I don’t think I could stick to a list like this, I would weave in and out. I loved Mall Cop- got a Galley for viewing. Any dude who can fight crime in a segway..gotta give him points.. lol I was laughing at his man BOOBs in the beginning with the sweat placed rightly so… and the Victoria Secrets fight… the miss most certainly did not need a push up bra!

Blog stats are so funny sometimes.. I guess because I have GIRL in my tag.. I get the XXX lurkers..

OH.. I have to tell you, to add to your list, a movie that I bought and recommend. It’s All about the Women-fab, fab, fab! It was SOOOO good.. Bride Wars was okay, but it might be fun to watch since yours in just around the corner.

Sara- I am not sure which charity yet- I am thinking something for families of alcoholics might be nice, or towards cancer research- I am sure there will be a couple left at the end of 1001 days but I hope to complete them all!!!

I am still loving crossing things off

Jessica- Thank you :-) I am already thinking about my next list, or depending on whether I complete the stuff on this list earlier than expected I might be able to start on my new list sooner- I am a bit of a list addict!!

Some of the blog traffic I get is from places like FWC but most of it tends to be from links on other blogs or random google searches. People search for CHERRY BLOSSOMs a lot and also for cherry blossom themed weddings. I am not sure if they are disappointed once they arrive or not.

Nay- I am so glad we started this together- we are both doing amazingly well!!! Hopefully we can continue with our progress!!!

Girl Japan- I can imagine that you would get some random searches to your blog- the must be disappointed when they get there and there is no nudie pics! ;)

I thought Mall Cop was funny but I doubt I would see it again- I did see Bride Wars which was not too bad. I have not seen All about the Women yet though, so thanks for the recommendation as I will definitely try and check it out!

Funny, I try not to look at my stats and referrals or I have a tendency to get a bit OCD and start drilling down everything and using Whois lookups to try and match all my hits to real people and readers and obsessing over particular search terms….
