It rained on my wedding day but luckily our ceremony was inside. However, we had planned to take all of our photos outside so that was a bit of a disaster! Near our church was a big cathedral though, and our photographer took some really great photos – you’d never know that we were just standing in a concrete doorway, or near an window! Also, once it was just spitting, we risked my dress (wrecked my shoes tho!!) and went up to our original photo place and took some photos there. My hubby had the foresight to buy those see-through brollies which actually looked really cool in the photos cos you can see the sky and clouds through them! Honestly, I know everyone has probably been saying this to you, but on the day it really doesn’t matter that much!!

But, kidding aside, I am sure you’ll have a beautiful day. Its Fall there, right? We had our wedding in December, and it was kind of outside, but in a covered sort of pavilion thing, so we were safe, even though it didn’t rain. I was a pretty chilled out bride, but our wedding was, I’d say, a lowkey affair. Yours sounds like a bit more of a production (in a good way, of course, it sounds beautiful and exciting, a dream-wedding!), so its fine to be nervous and wanting everything to be perfect! I’m sure that no matter how it turns out you’ll have nothing but the best of memories because weddings are special. Even people who have had unexpected events at their weddings seem to look back at them fondly, and have a good laugh over it after the fact (My mom and dad got married in a garden and a snake showed up. They have pictures in their wedding album of the “uninvited guest” lol). Even if it does rain (which it won’t!) it’ll still be a perfect, beautiful wedding, simply because its yours!

I’ll make a couple in your honour, too.

My mum has photographed a few windows and if its any consolation overcast skies make for better pictures (no shadows).

A good friend from school was married in a hall in the rain and it was beautiful with the veils of rain out the window.

My wedding was 36 and sunny and we all got sunburnt. It was still fun though…

What I’m trying to say is stressing over something you can’t control will just get you all worried and you don’t want frown lines on your big day, hey?

(but don’t completely give up your chance to be bridezilla- it’s a right!) ;P

I am sure you will have a beautiful, warm day on your wedding day and even if you don’t it will be just perfect anyway! Don’t stress about the litte things – as a lot of people said to me when I was stressing about the weather, the most important thing you need to make sure of is that Shun is there waiting for you once you have walked down the isle!!! Anything apart from that isn’t important in the long term!

Oh, I had the same rain fear. Luckily for us it was 18C and sunny (though none of the green had come in yet… slight dissapointment). I totally was not into the backup plan either but I’m sure it would have been equally lovely had it been indoors.. you make it work. I shall be praying for good weather on your big day regardless. I hope everything turns out perfect =)

You could always go for a “The Notebook”-esque romantique kissing in the rain scene at the end, if it rains. That was MY backup plan. A picture I’ve always wanted to take!

I’m outdoors too, and have a very plain backup room. I’m making Kusudama at the moment, so they should jazz up the indoors if we’re there, or just look lovely if we’re outdoors. I’m sure it will still be lovely if it’s indoors – you can look out onto the venue, right? )
