Moving is just SO STRESSFUL, exciting but stressful– you go through these modes, and last is exhaustion. I am so happy we moved unexpectedly in the end but I don’t envy anyone having to move.

I am so glad you found the perfect place, can’t wait to see when you begin designing your flat.. exciting times ahead!

Katie- Yeah! It looks great hey! We got word that our application was accepted so we just need to sign the contract and pick a move date (I think July 18th)

Midori- I can not wait to move- unpacking is actually okay by me too! Getting the house “livable” is the fun part! I am really looking forward to it. We will start to prepare for the baby too, but I will probably wait until I know the sex to do much more shopping! haha

Kurify- Oh which park? The park next door to this place is very small but there is some grass and trees which I like! There are two large parks in the Funabashi area that are big and green as well and just a short bike ride away.

I am glad I am moving now, like you said, before my belly and goma-chan gets too big!

Elizabeth- We will be really close! Just one stop as you said! We should meet up once you come over to do your exchange! My first year in Japan was while I was on exchange as well and that is where I met my husband!!!

I have not lived in Funabashi before but it seems nice enough- although very crowded but that seems to be the norm most places in Japan!!! I will miss West Tokyo but I am sure I will adjust!!!!

Wow, it looks really big! Congrats on finding a nice one

And it sounds like you and me are going to be neighbors! We’re in the area nearest to one station over, higashi funabashi, but funabashi station is only a 20 minute walk away. Tatsuya moved into our apartment a couple weeks ago, and so far he loves it and the surrounding area. So hopefully you guys like it too!

Congratulations! Although it’s stressful trying to an apartment that’s just right, it’s so fun to think about how you’re going to decorate and get things just the way you like them. So glad you got it all done before it becomes difficult to move (with goma-chan).

I currently live across the street from a huge park and that is one of the main reasons why I chose this apartment – I go there for all sorts of events, to go running, and just to look at. It’s so lovely being so near to greenery, and that’s difficult, especially in metropolitan Japan!

Thanks for commenting!!! I am defintely going to check the link you provided to your apartment decorating right after this! I am nosy and love checking out what other people do with their places!

I know the place in Koenji you are talking about!!! I went there only once with a friend (I lived in Nakano and before that Kichijoji- great side of Tokyo!). I will have to get back out there to have another look sometime soon!

I hope you and your hubs get back here soon!

Lily- I do not mind the Chiba area but out of all the places I have lived, I still like West Tokyo the best, in particular Kichijoji. It is an expensive area though but just so awesome (even going out a couple stations to Musashisakai or after that might be nice?)

I will be happy to let you know Chiba`s good points later on though!

When will you be getting transferred back to Tokyo??

It sounds ideal. The size is great, 30 years old brings down the cost but must look awesome because of the reform, plus convenience to the station. Good mansion hunting skills! Our Yokohama place was in a great location but tiny, dark and very expensive! I am curious how life in Funabashi will be. Ultimatley we will be transferred back to Tokyo so I always want to know where is a good place to live.
