Yay! What fun to see the little bean moving around right? Our doctor couldn't tell us the baby's gender at 20 weeks and as you may know, ultrasounds are much less frequent in the U.S. so we didn't have another one (and a shot at figuring out the gender) until almost 38 weeks along. By then we had decided we could wait a few more weeks to be surprised. The fun of the big reveal, whenever it happens, is really priceless!

Glad to hear you had such a great appt.!

I think Goma-chan looks like a boy, and I agree with the stubborn thing too! Wow, that is a bargain, we paid like 7000 yen each time, although they knew we were giving birth in Aussie and didn't have any big payments coming so I guess they had to milk us for all they could!
Good luck moving this weekend!

Khea- I am hoping that goma-chan will cooperate and show his or her "bits" next time- I get the feeling if they say boy then it is pretty close to 100% been a boy it is when they say girl early on that later on they can go "whoops, there it is, we were wrong!" - you are far enough along now though that there is no chance of a turtle popping out I think. In America and Australia they do a lot less scans so if they say girl and it turns out the be a boy it is usually because the person had no other scan after the gender scan but in Japan they do so many that I think they are like 99.9% sure by birth.

Next time you go to drs just take your own camera and video the scan? Then you can have a mini dvd!!! Or maybe take a blank dvd and they can make you one? I don`t know? Hopefully I will get some 3D pictures next time I hope as well as finding out the sex!

Sara- Sorry I saved your comment from spam! Haha, yes I am sure the 430.000yen I paid today helped in giving me the DVD, at least a little!!! LOL

I am not sure- shun is a bit of an otaku so he could end up being a densha otoko....scary thought.

Thanks for the luck with the move- good luck at your drs, I hope the scales surprise you!

Not until the THIRD scan that he said it was a girl. The first two times it was "probably a girl" which just had me doubting... every time since though, it's been girl so *crosses fingers* I think if it's a boy though it's closer to 100%... you can hide "things" but you can't fake having them lol

Hopefully next time!
(That's still so cool about the DVD though)

Brenda- Thank you! The pulled stomach muscle felt better today- I still have a sore back but it is much better to. By weird cravings do you mean wanting to eat icecream covered in fish flakes? Then nope, no weird cravings! I had a craving for chocolate ( not so weird) since Monday but held out until today when I picked some up on the way home- then I got home, ate a row and was like "meh, thats enough"

What is mummy and me yoga? I have seen "doga" dog and me yoga...

Illahee- That is always what the doctor says too- "genki da ne" EVERYTIME! Both drs say goma is very genki. I guess some babies don`t move much? Apparently goma doesn`t stop.

Khea- When did you start to feel sure that Ponyo was a girl? I really really want to know now that they couldn`t tell me. Haha! I still think boy, but it would be good to know so that I can start buying stuff that is not neccessarily gender neutral. I know I will have time after goma is born but my mum in Australia is hanging out to find out too as she wants to knit something pink or blue (she already made a gender neutral blanket!)

Haha, about the plates! I am eating normally but no more or less than usual really.

Rachel- Oh I felt what felt like bubbles up until today and then absolutely nothing yesterday but then today after the "echo" the baby started going nuts. I think it is cos the doctor tried to get him or her into a better position and maybe he wasn`t so impressed. He/she probably hates me too now as I have been poking at my belly most of the day trying to get movement!

Oh the size measurements were kind of all over the place anyway- like circumfereance of head was small but then another measurement of the head was big or something. I figure it isnot an exact science and goma-chan is going to come when he/she wants to anyway so no use stressing too much. Although you have to admit a giant head is a bit of a worry! :-)

Heather- Apparently I get one (or two, I kind of missed what the lady was saying) dvd`s complimentary. I think it might be two, as at the end they asked me to bring the DVD next time. Or maybe that is only because they didnt end up finding out the sex so they will add another one to the current one next time (It actually opens to a screen first were I can click today`s DVD). I handed my boshi techo ken thing over at the beggining which is why it was so cheap I think? I am not sure. Trust me though, while the outside of the place looks like a love hotel (Seriously!) it is actually really nice inside!

Please do not say that about Amy! I am scared now they won`t be able to tell me the sex!!! Did they really have no clue? Or did they suspect girl but couldn`t confirm?
