Weekend fun awaits…
Woke up this morning with an extremely sore back- it was okay when I first woke up earlier to go the bathroom (yes, a very regular occurrence at night now) but when I went back to sleep I must have flipped onto my back and slept that way. I guess the extra wait of goma-chan meant that when I did wake up I could barely move. My neck was stiff and sore and just trying to move my legs to get out of bed was so painful I wanted to cry.
There is not much you can do for back pain during pregnancy from what I can tell except yoga stretches and the like. A hot shower would be good too I am sure. I have suffered lower back problems on and off since my teens and know quite a few exercises that can help so when I finally did manage to get out of bed (saying “ouch, ouch, ouch, itai, itai, itai”) I did some stretches put some cold ice on my back and luckily felt a bit better.
We are having visitors this weekend and had a busy day of cleaning planned for today and tomorrow (kind of have to space it out a little
). I was dreading it with the sore back but I think the fairly constant movement most of the day really helped as while it is still sore I can move freely again (instead of like a stiff robot that needs oiling!)… I did two loads of washing, cleaned the oven, fridge, stove-top, kitchen and grill plus swept out the kitchen and the area. Also did the dusting and cleaned the bedroom and put up the wall art in goma-chan`s room (photos to follow sometime soon!). Still a couple more things to do tomorrow but most of it was done today thankfully.
Sarah and her family (including baby Sakura) arrive on Friday afternoon in Funabashi and Nay is coming around the same time on the bus from Shizuoka- Nay will stay til Sunday afternoon and Sarah and her family until Monday afternoon so the Cherry Blossom Adventures household is turning into a mini hotel for the weekend! Saturday we are all going to meet up with Khea and meet baby Missha for the first time. On Sunday Cassie & her family and Melanie and her husband T are coming for lunch at our place to meet Sarah, Sakura & Nay. I am so excited about the weekend and can not wait to see everyone again! Bring on Friday!!!!!!!

That nightly bathroom trip (or trips in my case) really gets old after awhile. I really liked sometime between weeks 23-30 where if I was lucky I slept through the night, at most only going once. This past week hasn`t been good because its been so hot in the evenings.
I definitely hope your back feels better soon. Thats one of the reasons I have gotten back into my wii fit, some of the yoga poses they have are really nice and stretchy for the back. I also get T to rub my lower back in the evening. Its best when he balls his hand into a fist and sort of puts pressure on the sore spots and moving it back and forth (imagine a tennis ball on your back). Maybe try and get Shun to try it out if your back is still feeling sore later.
I`m so looking forward to Sunday! can`t wait
Yeah, I’m at the getting up several times a night to go to the bathroom point too and it sucks, especially since I have to be up early for work anyhow so all the interrupted sleep makes me even more exhausted. I haven’t had back pain so far, but pelvic pain is getting really annoying.
Have a great weekend with your girl-buds. It sounds like you have a lot planned, should be fun!
I hope your back gets better soon, I was lucky enough to avoid any back problems with my pregnancy but I can totally relate to the numerous trips to the bathroom in the night. You should consider it good training for all the midnight feedings you’ll be doing once the goma-chan arrives.
Sounds like you got a lot of cleaning done, I bet your place will sparkle for all your house guests. I hope you all have a great time together and hopefully I can meet the rest of the gang the next time you get together.
I didn’t get back pain till RYu – altough I got kill me now cramps in my left leg at night with Shou and Marina. Sounds like you have a full on weeked planned. Hope you have all of next week to recover!! Have a great time talking bumps, births, babies and backaches.
Jealous- sounds like you have a FABULOUS weekend of fun and frolics ahead. I am hoping your back gets better though. I have thrown my back out a few times over the years and it is always a complete nightmare. Enjoy your weekend with everyone. Can’t wait to hear ALL about it!
Jealous!!! And just how palatial is your apartment???
The random mystery pains of pregnancy sure suck, don’t they. I remember lying on the floor desperate to pee but unable to sit up with lower back pain. Had to wake K to pull me up. *^_^*
