Package, Engrish, haircut & crops..
Bit of a photo update of sorts.
Package of things we received from my Dad the other day- Aussie animals and some material books and a book for the bath later on.
Engrish about a dog named Lulu- found at in-laws house. It is a photo album.
Photo of my haircut- some of you requested a picture so took this on the mac photobooth thing. Shocking picture but anyway…

And finally- this is a crop growing about 50m down the street from our apartment. I think it is Daikon but Shun thinks Brocolli or Cabbage. I am sure we are both completely wrong but could any of you J-girls know what this is? Maybe you have it planted in your own little veggie farms… I took it on my keitai.

Much to Shun`s dismay if I don`t find out soon I am going to go knock on the door of the house next to this plantation and ask them what the hell it is because it is bugging me.
Other random tibits
- I forgot how much I love Van Morrison. He is awesome. That is all.
- Had lunch today with Zoe & her boy Hunter. We meet up once a month on a Monday as Sunday`s and Monday`s are her days off from her full-time job. I met Zoe originally when she gave me one of her private students when I came back to Japan since she was starting full-time work and wouldn`t be able to continue and we hit it off straight away. We went to Lalaport to eat Hawaiian hamburgers and they were so good. Last time I saw Hunter my belly was not as big but his mum told him their was a baby in there and he kind of looked between her, and me and then said “Uso” literally meaning “lie” but probably closer to “Yeah, right!” and when we told him it was true he lifted up his own shirt and patted his belly and said “Hunter too?”. Today we asked him if he remembered where the baby was and he pointed to my stomach and patted it and said “baby” – I was sure he would of forgotten as he is not quite 2 and a half and we have only met a handful of times and we had the conversation over a month ago (sometimes he is at Hoikuen when Zoe and I meet up)-. It was so cute. I told him that once December came he could give the baby a cuddle as it will be outside my tummy then and he seem satisfied with that.
- I sent an article off to a online travel site for women- hopefully I get some good feedback from that. Also working on a couple of other pieces that I might submit to the magazine that is running one of my articles in November- I figure I have to be a bit persistent.

Sorry, it’s not daikon! It’s a cabbagy thing of some sort. Watch it and see what happens!
Nice hair. Very cute!
my guess is kale.
second guess is cauliflower. definitely not daikon.
Vicky- I will definitely be keeping my eye on it!!! Cabbage of some sort huh? Thanks for the hair compliment.
Illahee- I had no idea what Kale was so had to google but it seems to be a cabbage thing as well? So I am guessing I was way off on the daikon- off to google what growing daikon looks like now! Haha!
LOVE your haircut!!
I have no idea what the plant is but it does look like cabbage of some description.
Midori- Thanks! I just thought they would be too big to be cabbages but I guess not? I guess Shun was closer in getting it right than me- truly a country boy at heart maybe? Or maybe he just inherited his “baba`s” green thumb! I am going to take the photo with me next time and show her as she will surely know.
Love the hair! It`s hard finding a good hairstylist that knows you and your style. I found one in Osaka when I lived there, now that we live in Shikoku, I still go to see her cos she is the only one that gets it. I tried a few locally but just not the same.
Love the toys, excellent idea with the Aussie animals..will steal idea and shop in Oz when I`m there next
Hair looks awesome! I wanted some funky style like that but all I got was boofiness that won’t go in a ponytail!
I have nooooo idea what the leafy thing is but Ryota assures me it’s Chinese cabbage or cabbage of some description. He was all like “Look! That’s where you roll it!” And I gave him a blank stare….
Those toys are so Aussie natsukashi, I’m definitely buying some when I’m home this week, Your dad is such a sweetheart!
Lovely toys and books! Aren’t family great?
Pretty sure the crop isn’t daikon, but not really sure what. Might be broccoli? Wrong season? ARghhh, now I want to know!!!
Your hair looks really nice too. Mine gets curlier the more it’s cut (it was poker straight and I SWEAR it was a pregnancy thing) so wouldn’t work
Hi LuLu
I’m voting for broccoli. I have something very similar growing in a pot. I planted 6 seeds but only 1 survived. Still hasn’t actually given me any broccoli to eat but it’s still young.
Let us know when you find out!
Your hair looks good ::)
No idea about the plant I am sorry but after reading everyone’s comments a cauliflower or something does kind of fit…
I love your hair – it looks great!!
I also love all the Australian stuffed toys your dad sent you – so cute!!
Your hair is gorgeous!
Packages from home, aboard, from friends, family are just fabulous, I hope you are enjoying yours!!!
shite.. I meant abroad…
Hmmm, definitely not daikon. It has a more yellowy green serrated leaf on a long stem.
I don’t think it’s cabbage as it usually has a rounder leaf.
I’m going to say cauliflower or broccoli but those are really big leaves for either of those.
Hmmm a real mystery, hey?
Love the haircut too- really suits you.
And you can’t go past an Aussie toy, can you? ;P
I love the little stuffed animals and books, they are just so cute! Hmm after doing a little searching I am thinking it may be cabbage. The haircut is awesome, I would love to have my hair that short sometime, though my boyfriend may not like it lol
Great hair! I get my straight perm done at Ginza Labo in Tsudanuma. It’s only about 9000yen. Tell Shun to try it. http://www.ginza-labo.net
Van’s the Man!
I would also say something like cauliflower or, given the time of the year, brussel sprouts, maybe?
Go and knock on the door and ask!! We are all curious now- my money is on cauliflower.
Looks suspiciously like stuff we have planted in tanbo next door every year – which is Kale.
Van Morrison – Moondance is all time favorite song. Love it.
And, I AM going to send that bath and stuff this week Lulu. Promise. You’re looking good at 30 weeks – reaching that mark is a biggie I agree. I felt better just knowing that if bubs was born chances are would be OK on the outside.
Good luck with the study and the writing!
