I'm with the commenters above, pretty sure you can still get a fever without your tonsils, a fever is just your body trying to burn off an infection. And you're right, that doctor was silly -- of course you would put on weight if you are to do nothing but rest, and I don't think starving yourself will do you or Goma-chan any favours. There's a lot more sickness floating around at the clinic than there is anywhere else and you're probably better off just resting at home unless you spike a high fever (I am pretty sure you can still get a fever without tonsils) or start having trouble breathing. I love your response to the doctor, that's the right attitude! I have gained about the same amount as you this pregnancy and I'm pretty proud of how well I've done. I think I also put on about 2kg between 31 and 33 weeks, but then I went back on Friday at 35 weeks and had only put on .6kg, so maybe there is a growth spurt somewhere around 32-33 weeks for the baby too? Do you have to start doing weekly appointments yet? I have to start now, I'm 36 weeks as of tomorrow! Yikes!
