Several weeks ago I started signing up for Brenda @ Mummy-time`s Flog Yo Blog Friday. It has been great as I have started reading a lot of new blogs (when I find the time!!!) and I am enjoying making new online friends.
Most of the people that read this blog are based in Japan like me or are people that know me in real life so it was nice to branch out a little bit. Through following some new blogs I learnt about Jodie at Mummy Mayhem who is running a meme of sorts where bloggers post pictures of themselves without make-up. You can read the backstory behind the idea here.
Anyone that knows me in RL knows that I rarely, if ever, go outside without make-up on. I am EXACTLY the same as my mum in this way. It only takes me 5 minutes to put my “face” on- so it isn`t like I go to a lot of trouble (honestly it takes my husband longer to do his hair!) but I think that is because I have perfected my “day” make-up over the years and that is why I have it down to a 5 minute routine.
So I present a picture of Noah & I- taken this morning using the mac application “photo booth”- we are BOTH without make-up. HAHA. Not TOO bad huh? Helps that there is a cute baby in there to distract you perhaps?
Anyway- I encourage anyone out there that wants to join in to do so! Be sure to head to Mummy Mayhem and sign up- would be cool if we could get it going all around the world with some more participants in Japan!!!

I am just a twenty something Aussie girl living in Chiba, Japan with my Japanese husband trying to make sense of the crazy Japanese world we live in! We welcomed our first son in December 2009 (Noah) and a second son in January 2011, 2 months premature (Shion). I am working hard at raising them to be confident, bilingual, happy kids!
I would have been SO tempted to put makeup on the baby.

Fiona- I thought about it but he has atopi (eczema!) and I have to be careful what I wash my clothes in as well as his- some how i think make-up might not of been the best idea (I thought about a clown mask too!)

Gee I’d have to do the opposite!! People always comment when I do wear makeup because they rarely see me with it on!. Some people think of it as bare I think of it as me.

I never wear makeup, hehe. I used to wear a bit when I was younger but I was never that into it. You look great even without makeup though, you’re totally someone who could get away with never wearing makeup if you wanted — you have especially pretty eyes.
