What I should be doing…

There are a lot of things I should be doing while Noah naps instead of blogging and watching downloaded tv but it is just so much easier to veg out on the couch…

Things I should/could be doing

- Making sure I have everything in order to apply for Noah`s Australian citizenship and passport- we are off to the embassy next Monday (I have been telling myself this for weeks and next week I WILL GO DEFINITELY!)
- Preparing dinner.
- Baking something for the lesson on Wednesday
- Wiping up all the piles of drool on the ABC mat.
- Reading- I am still working on my first book for this month “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”, I like it but it takes a bit of concentration so I find myself having to go back and read stuff. My brain is not what it used to be since having a baby.
- Napping myself although Noah slept awesome last night so am actually quite genki.
- Contacting a new clinic to see if they can do Noah`s 3rd and final DPT shot next week.
- Searching for a business English textbook for one of my students (any suggestions? She speaks intermediate level conversation but would like to improve her business conversation now she has returned to work)
- Making a new cd of photos to print for scrapbooking as I have now done all the ones I had…
- Writing a list of food I need to get at the supermarket tomorrow
- Writing in general since I still need to try and cross off “get paid to write something” in my 101 things in 1001 days list. I should be coming up with magazine article ideas instead of writing lists of things I should be doing….
- Researching if it is too late in the year to plant some veggies and herbs as I really want to do it.
- Asking the building manager if I can use the space outside my apartment to put some pots that will have veggies and herbs!
- Sorting the favourites on my computer because they used to all be in nice folders but now I have about 100 or so to re-sort. Mainly baby related or recipes but still…
- Looking for more private students…
- Studying Japanese. What a joke. Haven`t studied in months.

Yeah, so that is just a couple things I could or should be doing while Noah naps instead of blogging.

On the plus side the house is clean since I did a big clean up yesterday. That said, there are dishes that should probably be washed sitting in the sink. But only a couple! And I managed to catch up on about 5 days of blog reading last night too.

But instead of doing the other things listed above I am blogging. What should you be doing instead of reading my blog?

I should probably be folding the clothes I took out of the dryer about 3 hours ago (but I think I should be changing someone`s poopy diaper as while typing there was a rather loud “puuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu”)

guess i ought to do that

we`ve only done one of the 3 for misora`s dpt, I hope they didnt have to be all done within a certain time frame, not going to be doing any more until after her polio one. But if we should have, its the clinics fault for not telling us when we should do the next, her booklets dont really say.

Melanie, with DPT I was told they had to be 3 weeks or more apart. Then the 2nd and 3rd do have be within a certain time frame so maybe ring the clinic and ask? Noah has Polio in 3 weeks… and I asked about the DPT (since it will be next week) whether it would be too close to Polio and they said as long as there is a week between it is okay?

I am not really sure though.

Noah is awake now- playing on the sofa with my waterbottle which is apparently the best toy in world according to him.

I did manage to bake while he was napping in the end. I feel so behind on a lot of stuff though that apart from my lesson on Wednesday I don`t think I will be doing anything else this week. I am tired and think I am getting ANOTHER cold. Ridiculous as that is.

I should be working instead of reading your blog. But it’s Monday and reading your blog is so much better than work :)

  4. I should be getting through the big huge evil pile of ironing – everything that I’ve washed since we got back from our hols is sitting on the ironing board silently judging me. Reading blogs is definitely more fun!

Hope Noah gets another good night in and you get enough rest to fight off any potential colds!

  5. I should be checking out whether I can work legally as an SP in Japan!

  6. If I’m honest, I probably should be in bed!!

  7. I should be doing laundry. Ah, I hate it. I don’t watch TV, so I don’t feel guilty blogging or reading blogs. Sometimes I feel that I should be reading a book instead of keeping my bum in front of my computer, but it’s okay. I’m having fun! You at least made a list of things you should do. You’re ahead of me! -Kaho

Our doctor in front of chiba Keisei chuo station does vaccination every thursday and saturday around noon, no reservation needed, just the boshi techo and the yellow paper.
Tell me if you need details

  9. I should be getting dressed as I’m still in my PJs and it’s almost noon. Looks like that won’t be happening for a while though as Kayla appears to be waking up from her nap haha.

Good luck with getting all your chores done! I have a question for you about Noah’s Australian citizenship. I remember you saying that you got his Jp. passport first so you could have his name spelt with the h. Has it been easy enough getting his citizenship using the same spelling? Do you just have to take his Jp. passport with you?

  10. I say veg out!!! As a mother of a young baby, most of your energy is going to parenting at this point in time. Around the 2 year mark, it gets easier because they can eat for themselves, walk for themselves, play and clean up for themselves. But at this point, they are so dependent that it consumes all your energy. Unless you really feel like doing something, I would take the opportunity to rest so you can be your best when he wakes up. I did it for years and I was shocked to realize recently that I am able to wash the dishes without “scheduling” it in!!!

  11. Wow…that is a long To Do list! But yeah, usually when I have lists like that, my mind wanders and I start procrastinating.

Currently, I am reading yr blog during lunch break – but I really should take this time (where I have unlimited free internet access) to do wedding planning stuff. Ngehhhh…

  12. i should be going to bed! (Or at least doing homework, if not going to bed..)

  13. -study Japanese. Especially since I missed my last two lessons ’cause I was on holiday
-fix some of my clothes (shorten pants, sew back on buttons etc)
-iron (hate ironing, and ironing hates me, I have burn marks all over my arm because I keep running into it. I’m a clutz)
    -write e-mails

but on the plus side I did:
-write messages on facebook (I am bad at replying)
    -did a blog post
    -did the laundry
-found new podcasts to keep me occupied on my way to work

  14. I’m not sure if this is what your student is looking for but some of my students quite enjoy Surviving English by Peter Viney. It’s in British English and has chapters with different business social interactions, plus extra exercises on the side and a CD-ROM.
