Well it is already 2nd of September so I guess posting everyday in September is out.
In the last two days my morning sickness has kicked back in pretty bad. Yesterday I was sick 4 times and today already 3 times and I just feel like crap. When I was pregnant with Noah most of my morning sickness was gone by about now except when I caught the train or rode in a car (and that stopped around 18 weeks). I am hoping that morning sickness with edamame-chan comes to an end soon.
I have my mummy class today here at home. It has been 6 weeks because the August class got postponed until today because I went to Australia. I would usually bake something for afterwards but it didn`t happen and I have felt too sick to do a proper clean up. I vaccuumed and mopped and cleaned up the kitchen and bathroom but it definitely is not as clean as it usually is. If I felt a bit better (and the smell of cleaning products or almost anything didn`t make me want to be sick) then I would of done a better job but I am over it.
I had my doctor`s appointment for edamame-chan on Tuesday. He/she is going well (I still think another boy- I swear I saw a penis too but It is probably too early to tell!), growing well and the doctor laughed about how genki he looked swimming around in there. I will be 14 weeks on Sunday and more than a 3rd of the pregnancy is over. Wow! I got the scan on dvd and I will upload it eventually so that others can have a guess of the sex. I will be able to find out for sure in my appointment in about 8 weeks (I will have another in 4 weeks but it will probably be too early) and then I will be off to Australia again soon after that.
He/she is good size, looks healthy and all seems fine. My blood tests from previous appointment came back and everything is fine (although the doctor said ” You are still A- blood type”- um yeah, that wasn`t going to change was it? lol) and just my iron is a bit low but that is normal for me anyway.
Yesterday we had baby sign class- our fourth one (plus a trial before that)- next month is Halloween themed class and I have to dress Noah in a costume. Any ideas? We don`t really celebrate Halloween in Australia and the only time I have done anything for it has been when I have been in Japan. I might dress him up as a pirate or something….. put a parrot on his shoulder?! hehe
He is starting to react more to the signing I do with him- he has done the “more” sign once or twice (at least I think he is), he has started to wave bye bye (although not always at the right times) and he will bring his hands together but he won`t actually clap yet. If I say “kiss” though he makes the same noise I do! Very cute. I think over the next month he will start signing some of the other things we use everyday like milk, yummy, book, more, drink, water, bath and others… The teacher said he does sign babble- like yesterday in class when we were signing he would sit and move his arms around and hands together and touch his head and stuff and she said this is his way of trying to “copy”- I don`t really see it but maybe.
He is understanding some of what I say more too. If I ask “Where`s daddy” he will look around for Shun, he knows drink and more (and always opens his mouth when he hears either word), he responds to his name and he knows what “no” means although doesn`t like the word.
Back to signing class- Noah is the youngest there at 8 months and the 3 oldest are 13 and 14 months (plus some others in between- class of 9 I think it is). I was watching the 14 month olds and thinking FUCK, I will have one of them and a newborn in six months. They are still not really talking and they are all running around like crazy. I am definitely going to have my hands full.

Morning sickness is the pits isn’t it! Just reading your post brought memories of three different pregnancies come flooding back Arghhhhhhhhhhhhh! It is amazing how the body reacts to things to keep its self healthy and provide a good enviroment for the baby’s development.
A friend at playgroups sons are exactly 1 year apart to the week, she was saying that it is all a blur now, she doesn’t actually remember good, bad or otherwise but now her sons are 2 & 3 she is loving it, they are best mates and she wouldn’t want it any other way. You’ll be okay, eventually! I think in a way you are lucky living in an apartment while they are little. The confined space maybe seen bad by some but my kids could open the doors and go outside when ever they choose and that added to the supervision delima. You’ll have confined mess, reduced cleaning and good supervision
Just noticed you added me to your blog roll, thanks xx
oh yerk..morning sickness..I don`t think I have had it as bad as you (although at the time I felt like the world should end because I felt so crap)..hoping it recedes soon.
Coming from an `older` mum ;P I like the idea of kids close in age and had at a young age. I was never as collected as you seem to be at your age, I`m amazed that you have it so together!
Gambatte!
Mum agrees with A-chan’s friend that although having kids so close in age might seem like a big thing once you are doing it, it just ‘happens’. Things have a way of working themselves out and I am sure that you will be saying in a few years time that if given the chance you would do it the same next time round!
Hope the morning sickness eases for you soon! Hang in there
Yes you will have your hands full but you’ll handle it with your usual grace and panache.
Hope the sickness is done with soon.
