Shion came home on Saturday 19th February at six weeks 2 days old weighing 2522grams.
Leaving the hospital
Noah meets Shion
First ever family shot
Noah is adjusting okay. Having my mum here is a big help as she can spend time with him and devote time to him or watch Shion or do other things for me while I spend time with Noah. He gets a bit upset sometimes when I feed Shion and wants me to hold him at the same time. Shion is so light and feeding quite well so sometimes it is easy for me to sit on the floor feeding Shion while I read stories to Noah of play with blocks. Othertimes he just ignores Shion- it is as if is not even there. We are trying to get him to “help” by putting nappies in the nappy pail or taking clothes to the dirty clothes basket- it is a bit hit and miss but he is, after all, only 14 months old.
Not sure if they are at the brotherly love stage yet- but hopefully they will get there.
Shion is, so far, a very content baby. Several weeks ago I nicknamed Noah grumpy dwarf. If that is the case then I guess Shion is sleepy dwarf. He is still very small but doing very well considering- he is very much like a normal newborn just a bit smaller than average I guess.
Noah is creating trouble as usual- but he is still a cutie as well!
Shun is working crazy hours on a his current work project- average home time. 1am. Yes, 1am. He leaves at 9am and comes home at 1am. This project doesn`t end til end of April and hours will likely continue until then. Looking forward to some family time on the weekend.
Tomorrow will mark one week since my mum arrives, Shion`s 7 week birthday and 6th day home and also Nay & Leilah are coming to visit from Shizuoka. Apart from family they will be the first to meet the little guy!

welcome home, shion!
Awww, so so cute!
I remember when we first brought Annika home and Dylan was already 2 by then but he still didn’t really seem to get that she was another little person here to stay. But, within half a year he was very conscious of her, he’d ask for her when he woke up, try to give her things, etc. Now, she is 14 months and her and Dylan are just now getting to the point where they actually are both conscious of each other and interact with each other. Before, Annika of course loved watching her brother and would smile AT him, laugh AT him, but now she’s really doing stuff with him. It has been so fun to see them start to develop a sibling relationship so you have a lot of good times to look forward to!
Ah, such beautiful photos! I love the one of the two boys where Shion is looking up at Noah. And you just look amazing.
Congratulations on having your family home together.
xx
Congratulations! You must be so happy to have everyone under the same roof and not have to divide your time anymore! My oldest was 14 months when my second was born and she basically ignored the baby until she could sit up. Now they are the best of friends. You’ll have your hands full for awhile but it will pay off when they’re older.
What a lovely family photos! I think it’s typical for a kid Noah’s age to not show much interest in a baby. Actually typical of men of all ages… but I am sure that as soon as Shion starts walking, those two are gonna have SO much fun, and you are going to go crazy, tee hee
GREAT PICS!! Awesome. Love the one of Shion and Noah where it looks like Shion is cracking up at him!! Hope you have a lovely visit with Nay and Leilah.
