When Shion was born it came as a shock to me, of course, because he was born so early. It was a shock to many others as well and I was so touched by the amount of people who contacted me privately on facebook, through this blog, email and via phone to let me know they were thinking of us at the time. I also had so many reach out with gifts and offers of help that it made me feel so blessed to know that I have so many great friends and family- honestly, the best one could ask for.
Care packages came from all over- some with preemie clothes (new and used), gifts for Noah and me, little toys, food and more. Some from people who I have never met in real life.
Shion was lucky to get THREE quilts. One tiny one for tummy time from Jo at Jojoebi as well as a tiny little outfit from preemielove- a store here selling preemie clothes.
Also a quilt from the lovely Amanda in the UK (also a blogger, and someone I have not met in RL but she walked me through how to make a quilt when I made a small one for Noah)- who work put my original quilt to shame. It is no wonder she was the “teacher” in the equation!!!
And finally, two wonderful friends (Nay & Sophie)got together with a bunch of other people in Japan (and two in Australia!) and put together a patchwork quilt of patches from lots of different people who sent them onto Sophie who sewed the top part together and then Sophie forwarded it onto Nay who sewed on the backing. A huge group effort which produced an amazing quilt- it makes me feel so lucky and loved EVERYTIME I look at it. I also want to point out that a lot of bloggers were involved in this project (some who I know in person, others who I do not) as well as some of the FWC ladies!!
Shion is a very lucky boy!

Lovely quilts that each have a story that Shion will grow up and love to hear.
Hey,
Long time reader from the shadows. I hope everything is alright with you in your part on Japan. Thinking of everyone after the earthquakes.
First congrats on your adorable new edition to the family (I haven’t commented in forever it seems). Shion is a cutie just like his brother
I am glad to hear he is doing so well The quilts are amazing! Hope everyone is alright after the earthquake.
Been thinking of you since the earthquake/tsunami. Are you all safe and well? Please can you let us bloggy friends know when you’re able to. Sending all the hugs and love I can muster (even though I’ve never commented before).
