Moving sucks. That is all.
Okay you didn`t really think that was all did you? You all know how much I talk.
I will be without the internet for a bit- probably til end of next week although Shun said someone is supposed to come to the new place on Tuesday I have my suspicions he could be telling me fibs to make me feel better ( and get me off his back) as he left contacting the internet company to the last minute. Fine for him, he can use the net at work- I will only have my phone to use.
We both had things we had to do before the move- I wrote his things on a list and stuck it to his computer (and I was nice about it. I wrote the list in English and then wrote notes in Japanese)- because without a doubt he sits in front of the computer everyday. I had to pack everything up (80 boxes done…..I ran out of boxes now though and still not completely packed. And yes, we move tomorrow), go to the city hall to do some paperwork, bring paperwork home to get hub to fill some of it in, then take it back, with screaming kids in tow, hand in notice to our current apartment and basically remind my husband to do all of his tasks over and over again(Cancel gas, electricity, water and internet and make sure we would have all those things at the new place. He also had to decide on a moving company but in the end we went with the people we used last time and they came and gave us an estimate and we took it).
Oh yeah and I haven`t redirected our mail yet- I might send hub to do that tomorrow since he is off work anyway. Someone told me it is just a matter of filling in some paperwork. I hope that is all!
I hate moving. Can`t believe we will have to do it all again in a years time once the house is built.
So yeah, probably won`t be blogging much or around online the next week or so. Tragic for you all I know.

We welcomed our first son in December 2009 (Noah) and a second son in January 2011, 2 months premature (Shion). I am working hard at raising them to be confident, bilingual, happy kids!

I definitely feel your pain.. i’ve had to move 5 times in the past 3 and 1/2 years (and am a bit of a nomad now as well)! Granted, it was just my stuff and i didn’t have two kids under foot.. Still not a fun process though! But as Alyce above said, at least next time it will be for good, yes?
moving does suck. *hugs*
forwarding mail/changing address is pretty simple. as i recall, it’s just one page: name, previous address, new address, additional people at said address…you’re still in AFWJ, right? be sure to send your new mailing address to the membership secretary (me). the journals are sent via kuroneko which doesn’t forward mail. you have plenty of time to do that, though, the next journal is the august one.

address change is super quick and should only take you five minutes, perhaps 15 with screaming adorable children in tow. Good luck Lulu. I hope Shun pulls through and gets everything he needs to done – and more – and that moving stresses keep themselves at bay. Well, just a bit perhaps. You probably sifted through all your stuff and got rid of a bit which must feel good.
Hope you wrote, Noah, Shion and Shun on the appropriate boxes so you can find them all again at the other end.

Good luck! I reckon that this will be the hardest move.You have sorted things out now(well,into boxes!!) and when you move into your new house,you will have so much more room!

Good luck! Moving sucks, and it is all the more tedious in Japan with all the extra things that need to be tied up. Andust be all the more stressful with two little ones underfoot.
But to repeat what the others have said, changing your address is super easy. It should even be possible to do it and all the other utilities online. Well except for Internet access (aaahhhh the irony!!), which in my case was am absolute pain (but I was ending the service, not moving it)

I hate moving, too!! The last move was just 3 blocks, but I still hated it!! But that was SIX whole years ago, a record for us, by far!!
Oh and that move was 6 years ago this coming Monday, which happens to be my little son’s birthday… sucked for him, as he ended up having no party or celebration although I had said he could have one. Well, he put up with it alright.. he was 6 at that time and will be 12 now.
Moving sure does SUCK! Hope it all went well…and looking forward to you being online again…I just recently was without internet (for ONE Day) and I almost had a breakdown…LOL!!
