My computer is a bit f*****. Noah picked it up and threw it on the floor a couple of days ago and typing on it is now a challenge with the mouse curser moving constantly and deleting what I write or moving curser so that I start writing in the middle of sentences.
Extremely frustrating.
Pushing Shun to get me a new computer. It seems unlikely :-{ …..at least at this point when we are about to apply for home loan etc. I would rather get a new mac laptop {macbook pro?} and so will wait a bit to see if I can convince Shun I need one- he said I could get a cheaper laptop but that a mac might be a bit difficult. Oh well- will wait it out. It has been playing up for awhile….dropping it just didn`t help matters. {Neither did the coffee that was spilt on it just before we moved house}
In the meantime I will keep trying to blog when I can on the days the computer is being “good”…

I am just a twenty something Aussie girl living in Chiba, Japan with my Japanese husband trying to make sense of the crazy Japanese world we live in! What do you do with your computer? If it is just internet and mail, then why don’t you look at an iPad 2 with a keyboard attachment case. It is a different experience than a laptop, but it is certainly more robust and more portable when you have small children around. Plus you can load up kids apps for when they are playing up and need entertaining. Tweeting is much easier on the run.
Whenever I travel, I don’t take the laptop and just take the iPad. It does everything I need and has bonus features like movies etc.
But it isn’t for everybody so you really have to assess what you do and need your computer to do.
For a cheaper option again, you can look at a cheap notebook computer and then add in the Mac OS. This is called Hackintosh and it is totally legal.

My laptop was doing the same thing a while back.. i turned off the ‘tap’ option for the touch pad and that seemed to do the trick, though it took a while getting used to having to right-click on things instead of just tapping.
For me it’s the opposite. My computer is working great, but I wish it would just die. It’s not that I hate it, but when I bought it I had just started working and couldn’t really afford anything. So it’s a really crappy laptop. But there is really is no excuse to get a new one. It still works and works and works… no fancy new technology for me. *sigh*
