Some days Noah comes out with new words- in the last couple of days he has started saying “gen” which for him means “again” {as he signs it at the same time} and his other new word is “kuwawari” which means “colouring”. Most days he has no new words and I am left thinking when will his language explosion occur?
Some days Noah gets out of bed and around his room and does puzzles or reads books when he should be napping. Most days he stays in during nap time although this is only day 4 of having him in a toddler bed and not a cot {We took side off his cot and lowered it right down as we will be switching him to a bed before Christmas}.
Some days I think about toilet training Noah. Most days, especially as I have decided not to do it until after we move into the new house, I don`t even think about it. If he shows signs of readiness before next April then I might start but for now I am happy to keep him in nappies and he seems happy with that too.
Some days Shion only wakes up once overnight, like last night. Most days it is more- I am hoping as the weather cools down he will stop waking up at all. Wishful thinking?
Some days I eat ice cream. Actually, recently, most days I do. Strange as I have never been much of an icecream fan but I do enjoy Haagen Dazs. No wonder I am gaining weight!!
Some days Shion is happy to lay on the same spot on the floor and watch Noah play from afar. Most days he kicks his little legs so much trying to propel himself forward to play with the “big boy” toys! He is not far off crawling I think! Probably another month. Just yesterday I lay him down on a mat while I was cooking and turned back and he had moved 2m by pushing himself off edges of the sofa to move around the other side {where Noah was}.
Some days I check facebook only once or twice a day. Most days it is 10 or more times!
Some days I want to write a lot of “Some days” but I can`t because my silly computer is almost dead and randomly moves curser as I type and deletes stuff. Most days I can`t wait to get a new computer {or like Keitai Goddess suggested and Ipad…..doubt that will happen though :-{ } but no idea when that will happen!!

or how about an iphone?? I actually do a lot of blogging and surfing on that heehee.. so convenient especially when I was breastfeeding
plus I take a lot of photos so it’s snap then upload! no need to transfer from camera to computer etc etc. also the iphone camera is so much better (in my opinion) than an iPad too.
Language explosion? Once they turn three then I think you will see a huge improvement in language skills. Proper conversations, I kid you not! Some kids speak more fluently earlier, but I think it’s normal for kids to listen more and take everything on board before attempting to say a lot of stuff. James hardly spoke any Japanese until way past his 3rd birthday and then suddenly full sentences. I had been a little worried because he had made no effort to say anything in Japanese until that point.
Toilet training can be a pain so wait until you really think Noah is really ready or it may drag out for months and months. Once you start it’s best not to go backwards again. He’s still quite young, isn’t he? James was a nightmare to toilet train, but soon ditched his nighttime nappy. Alexa was easier to train but still wears a nappy at night. So different in so many ways…
Just wanted to say that I love these lists… Making them puts me in a positive mood. And though I don’t have any kids, I’m currently working with two- to four-year-olds, and the language difference between even the younger two-year-olds and the older two-year-olds is astounding. I’m sure you’ve already been given that perspective on things, but the way Noah participates in the “tot school” pictures that you post, I think he’s doing well. And you do an amazing job with him–SO much better than 99% of the parents of “my” kids–so I’m sure he’ll come around when he’s ready.
I’m so with you on ice cream – most days I try to have a fruit juice popsicle instead but… So much for loosing weight with my summer lack of appetite!!
I love reading your some day posts too! The always make me smile
Max is starting to show signs of being ready for potty training, but also seems completely freaked out by the idea. He tells me when he needs to do a poo, so I say ‘do you want your potty?’ and he runs away screaming ‘no potty, no no no’. I think I’ll just stick with nappies for now too!
Im the same with facebook. Hate that I’m on there so much but need to to distract me when she’s feeding/sleeping etc!
I didn’t get around to making my list this week – sorry! Will definitely link up next week though
I think about toilet training Leilah too because to be honest I would love for her to be out of nappies by the time this next baby arrives. I think I will try when I am at home in Australia in November but I’m not sure… she isn’t telling me when she does a poo anymore so I don’t think she is ready yet.
You only check FB 10 or more times most days?! Holy crap I am bad then… I think I update my FB page every 15 minutes or so, lol!! I am shocking!
