January gratitude list…

Today I thought about how 1/12 of the year is already gone and it kind of depressed me as I felt like I didn`t get much done.

Then I realize that quite a lot happened in January- lots of positive things and perhaps I should focus on those for a bit.

  • Seeing Shion turn 1 {Definitely top of the list!}
  • Family visit to the shrine  on New Year`s Day and enjoying new years break together as a family.
  • Starting the SYL12 challenge- looking forward to simplifying further and determining goals.
  • Finding more work and also some work to do from home {editing}
  • Booking tickets to Australia
  • Having it snow and watching Noah play in it and then Shion play in it a little bit a couple of days after.
  • Birthday parties for 2 very good friends children.
  • Getting some exercise in
  • Noah`s speech and communication getting better {and adding a couple of Japanese words to his vocab as well as it has made Shun really happy! Ohayou, ooishii, hai, ne ne {for getting attention not as in sleep}}
  • Storytime with the boys
  • Getting a couple of things crossed off the to do list.
  • Chiba Peanuts Multicultural Playgroup, play dates with friends {great for mama recharge and also for the kids!}, and a visit out to Fuchu to visit friends.
  • Good coffee and good wine on a couple different occasions!
  • Great chats with Shun.
  • One night where Shion woke up only once overnight at about midnight then slept in his own bed til 7am. Best sleep for all in awhile!

    YAY, great list! I cant believe tomorrow will be February either! Its nuts, but as you say the month of Jan had a lot of highlights! I think I will write a list too, even if it is just for me to reflect on and be grateful for. You forgot about the house, though hon!!! The frame going up at the begining of Jan has gotta go on your list!!!! (Did I get that right? I am sure they started putting it up after the NY break right? If I am wrong, you still gotta write something house related cos its BIG!!!!) ;)

    • Very true! The frame went up around the 10th of Jan and I think a couple of days ago they started laying some flooring!!!! WIll be finished before I know it.

      Look forward to reading your list {our walk was a highlight – came under play dates- was nice to get out and chat over a walk instead of chatting over coffee. Although I love chatting over coffee too!}

        Need a like button on blogs I reckon! I agree! Our walk was a highlight. Good conversation and lovely weather! One of my highlights was making Chiba Peanuts this month! I really want to try and make it regularly.
        The house is soo exciting. I cant believe you left it off the list! It is gonna be finished in no time! Cant wait to see it and come over for a playdate, or walk, or coffee! ;)

    Yes, the house needs to be on the list.

    Sounds like you had a great month. I am
    Shocked at how fast it flew by.
