It is just 10pm here but already I feel like I could fall asleep and sleep for hours and hours and hours. I have been so exhausted the last couple of days and I think it is because Shun was away over the weekend so I didn`t get my weekend recharge and extra help with the munchkins.
We still had a nice weekend though [even without "daddy"] and Shun enjoyed his boys weekend in Hiroshima for a wedding. From his university group of {soccer} friends there is just one left to get married now. Only 1 or 2 of them were married before Shun & I got married but in the last 3 years I think Shun has attended 12 or so other weddings. It really seems like there has been one every couple of months or so. We have another wedding {just a nijikai/second party) coming up in June that we will both go to and then another wedding in July for some university friends of mine- I met them BOTH at around the same time and they had known each other longer than I knew them and then a couple years ago they started dating and now they are getting married! Amazing really! They have known each other for about 11-12 years now I think- so excited for them to be tying the knot. My in-laws have stepped up for babysitting on both those days….the second one is an all day affair- hope my boys are not too much trouble for them.
I have already said that Noah does not have to have a shower/bath if he doesn`t want to. Apparently last time they watched the boys Noah SCREAMED the entire 5-10 minutes MIL tried to bath them so she asked if she had to do it all over again and I said no. Noah is really funny about baths/showers- he is usually fine if it is with me or Shun and in his own bathroom but anywhere else or with someone else and he completely nuts out.
Back to the tiredness- I was taking vitamins up until about a month ago but am thinking I should start taking them again. Not sure if they helped much but I guess they can`t hurt. I am probably low in something. I seriously feel tireder now than when I was getting unbroken sleep with Shion still waking up overnight. Just seems odd…
Some other random news in dot points- too tired to blog about them all in much detail and really, people probably can not really be bothered reading!
- My brother is coming to Japan in July with a friend. They are going to Fuji Rock but will stay with us for a couple days before and after.
- Cat & Sumi are coming over on Saturday to see the house and stay for dinner. I am thinking there will be wine….and cake {especially since it will be Shun`s birthday! We are not doing anything special really but he has requested hayashi rice and a cheesecake!}
- Lots of friends pregnant again right now. Another baby boom?! Hard to believe sometimes that Japan is an aging population with all of these friends popping out babies!!!
- We should be having turf laid in the garden tomorrow or Wednesday!
- We saw the solar ecclipse this morning- it was pretty cool. We had to look through sunglasses and our curtains as we didn`t have the proper glasses. Only looked for a sec.
- I have gone almost six months without buying any children`s books for my kids….{except Aussie themed ones}- it was one of my goals for the year since they have so MANY books. Looking forward to getting some new ones though even though there are plenty on their upstairs shelves that have never been read.
- I know I have not done any tot school for awhile. I would love to get back into it but I just feel a bit snowed under a lot of the time. Plus Shion still eats random stuff….hard to make activities they can both do but of course Shion is at a age now where he wants to do everything Noah is doing. We still do little things here and there and try to spend 1-2 hours outside everyday- sometimes more. I imagine once the garden is done this will be even more!
- Someone asked me how old I was the other day and I said 26. It wasn`t until I got home that I realized I am actually 27….time is flying by.
- Off to Lalaport tomorrow for the first time in ages – looking forward to doing a bit of shopping and having a catch up with Alyce and her kids. Might see another friend, S, as well since she lives so close by.
That is all!

Don’t forget you’re also invited to my nijikai in September… Ha!
Sorry you’re feeling tired… Unfortunately I’m right there with you! I’m starting my work week this morning coming off of one of the most exhausting and busy weekends ever (I also started my TOTM so I’m probably deficient in everything right now!) I also got up early for the eclipse but then went to bed at 2:30 last night without a nap. Needless to say I’m going to be white-knuckling it today. Anyway I’m sure you enjoyed this fascinating comment on your blog all about me and my 99 problems ;P Hope you have a fun Lalaport date!
Oh btw I forgot to comment on your last simplify your life post, so I’ll do it here where it’s completely off-topic, but I really enjoyed reading about how you organize things, you gave me some delicious ideas, I appreciate it :9
I will listen to your problems anytime Eli! LOL
September! Remind me of the date on fb and I will put it in our calendar. Just I will come though I think….{assuming here sorry that Shun would of been invited too}and Shun can stay home and watch the kidlets.
Glad you liked the organizing post too. I love to organize. When I am not being too lazy that is…
I so get you on the feeling tired even though your kids aren’t waking up five times a night. It was hard then and it is hard now but for different reasons. There is so much more ‘head stuff’ going on during the day. When they are that little, not playing much, not babbling much, not anything much – you just need to get through things in processes. But then they start needing the brain strain, the instructing, the consequences of bad choices, the praise for good choices, the reinforcements – and BAM – shattered by bed time. I’m off to bed and it is 9:45. Hopefully I’ll have my wine head on by Friday
That is shitloads of weddings in such a short time – glad they are almost over – as depressing as that sounds. But in Japan, where partners (let alone kids) are seldom invited, its a bloody financial, unfair, pain in the ass, strain. IMO
Fortunately (for me) the next wedding on our schedule is in FIJI – and I’m pulling the ‘can’t afford’ card so that just me and Ryu can go (my brother’s choice of child there – they want cutest boy to be ring barer and I am only sibling on either side of family with boys).
xxx
I am never in bed THAT early but sometimes wish I was. Actually the Saturday night that Shun wasn`t here I was in bed by 10pm. First time in ages.
Well I am thinking a lot of people will be done with weddings now that I am getting older, right? I expect a wave of weddings in the next couple of years in Australia though but I won`t get back for them all. Two friends, when and if they get married, I will definitely go back for and then my brother`s wedding as well …….whenever that will be. Will time it with trips home though I guess? Hoping most of them are done before the kids are in shougakou tho! LOL
Love that your brother CHOSE Ryu as the kid that can go to his wedding. LOL
I always forget how old I am!!
Glad I am not alone!!!
Haha. Love that you forgot how old you were. The new pics on the homepage are lovely.
Thanks! I am not very good with computer based editing software but used picassa to do the one above so it was pretty easy!
