Wagon is working…

So I weighed in today and I have lost 2.3kg in the last week. So happy because I really did try hard but I also did not starve myself- still had treats and exercised every day.

I think the last time I exercised every day was um……never. Well when I was trying to lose weight back before I got married I made sure I did a ton of walking but I definitely did not do an exercise dvd or class everyday.

Thank you to everyone who commented on the original post. LOVED reading the comment and kept getting more and more inspired.

I would love to lose another 6kg. A couple more than that would be even more awesome. I am in no real hurry though and know that this first week {as it has happened in the past} is when I will lose the most and after this point, even if I stick with eating better and less {essentially counting calories} and continue to exercise each day I will not have another big loss like this. If I lose 500g-1kg a week for the next 2-3 months though I would be stoked.

I always thought that trying to lose weight over the summer in Japan was a little insane. So damn hot. But it is perfect weather for salads, smoothies and fruit. Since I have to make dinner work for all of us I tend to try and eat a salad for lunch with some protein {egg, tuna, leftover cooked meat, beans} and also make sure there is leftover salad to eat with dinner as cutting back on rice consumption is definitely important.

Last year some time I tried the 30 day shred approximately twice. I hated it but both times the kids were awake when I tried. Last Friday, after reading Nay`s comment, I dug it out and went for it and have done it seven of the last eight day. Shun even joined me one night! I have also continued with stretching, when the kids are happily playing or we are dancing around together I will do 10 star jumps or sit ups because I have the time. I try to walk faster when pushing the pram than I usually would.

I know that when I put my mind to something I can do it. I think earlier this year I was so focused on other stuff that I really was not in the right head space to try to lose weight but I am definitely now in the right frame of mind.

My weight has yo-yo`d so much in the past 10 years from 60kg to up to a high as 85. The 85kg  {I think} was what I was when I gave birth to Noah but 18 months before that I was also about that weight but lost it through better eating/exercise.

Every time I  try to lose weight I tell myself “This is it, a life change, you need to stick with it” and I am hoping this time will be the time that I succeed!

Wish me luck.

  1. Great job – keep it up! It’s so easy to lose motivation after that first big weightloss isn’t it? But it sounds like you’ve already got into a groove and will be reaching your target soon :)
