American stuff…

Swap from Babs

I came home from work today to find a wonderful package from Babs filled with the above goodies!!! It is a shame my photography skills don’t do it justice. But there was loads of cool craft stuff like cute material (My favourite has peas in a pod print), iron on patches, vintage trim, stuff to make jewellery, some beads, cool buttons, plus sweets (can’t wait to try those sour patch lollies!!!) local free newspapers from Babs town and even a Japanese one!! Plus a mixed cd and a cute badge and postcard from Haight Ashbury street in San Fransisco!! It is all such cute stuff that I am inspired to try and make something crafty this coming weekend! Thanks Babs, you were so much fun to swap with and I hope you like your package too!!!

I am loving swapping with people and am so glad I came across Gimmeyourstuff. After these current swaps are finished I am going to do one more with Delightful Jen and then stop for awhile because at the moment there are four packages on there way to me (YAY!) which means i have sent just as many! I love it though and after a couple of months break will get back into it. I will be looking for some people living in Europe to swap with.

In other package news, I have received two packages from my mum recently the first was filled with a gorgeous vintage style purple dress which I will probably wear to Taka’s (Shumpei’s brother) wedding. In there was also a lace pink and black singlet (very hard to explain will post a photo another time). It also had a book, some sweets for Shun & some chocolate for me. Then just on the weekend I got another package with a winter suit in it that mum had picked up as a bargain. It is so gorgeous and I can’t wait for it to get colder so i can wear it to work when I have meetings!!! Thanks Mum!

Gimme…

Gimme Your Stuff

I never get much in the post except bills, the occasional letter from my grandmother in NZ and strange advertising paraphernalia so my letterbox is kind of empty. Anyway, about a month ago i came across this site and thought “yay” i should arrange a swap but then i got hit by a car, had lots of work and then i went back to Australia for a bit and i promptly forgot about it.

But now i am ready to give it a go.

I would be prepared to send anything you want/need from Japan including craft stuff, cute stuff, weird food stuff, lollies, chocolate, magazines, stationairy, stickers, stamps, mixed cd’s with Japanese music, Mixed cd’s of other music, hello kitty and other sanrio stuff, tea, dried squid (i don’t think you should eat it though!) or anything else that takes your fancy!

In return i would like to get well, what are you offering? I am really into the American magazine Bust and the Australian magazine Frankie. Old issues also ok if i haven’t already got them. Also i like bags! Um, sweets and food is always good (cous cous! YUM), and yeah surprise me!

If anybody is interested in swapping then leave a comment and check out the site i am talking about here. I love receiving mail and getting presents but i also love giving presents too!!

Update: I have had so many requests to swap via my blog and email and i will have to stop for now since i have four on the go!!! I will post again at Gimmeyourstuff and contact the people who have contacted me again in a month or so when things have cooled down! If you would be interested in doing a swap in a month or two then leave a message and i will get back to you then! Thanks

Internet…gotta love it

I was surfing other blogs and came across Mie’s Blog which had a link to a cool site that shows which countries you have visited on a map…I have only visited 6% of the world…but i am working on making my way around the rest of it…Hopefully next on the list is Vietnam…somewhere i have always wanted to go. Although, hopefully when i actually have money i might be able to go to China ( and not just for a stop over) and Korea…since they are so close to Japan anyway.

create your own visited countries map

I am really enjoying looking through other Japan based blogs…will eventually have to add a links section to my blog……

Internet…gotta love it. I have no idea how people lived without if before it came along because i have withdrawal if i don’t log on to the net at least once a day…

Blogs, recurring dreams and birthdays

First of all a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Clare as today is her 21st. Now you are technically a grown-up…this does not mean that you have to start acting like one though so don’t stress too much!

Today was pretty standard, I just got home but will go out again in an hour to give a private English lesson to one of my students. But yay it is in Kichijoji! I also just added my blog link to AustralianBlogs.com.au which is a great place to check out other blogs either made by Australians or people living in Australia…I am yet to have a good search through what else is there but will have to go back when i have some more time to check out what is on offer.

Some people are so creative and intresting…it is kind of depressing when i look back through what i have done so far…but maybe looking around at everybody else’s great blog work will encourage me to be funnier…maybe…

Shumpei is coming tonight…i guess we have to talk about when he is actually moving in here…my apartment is not that big, and i will have to get rid of some of my clothes and stuff to make room for Shumpei’s stuff…..but luckily i can just send them all to his parent’s house in a suitcase… It is time to say goodbye to winter clothes for awhile anyway!!!

Does anyone know what a recurring dream is a sign of? Or does it depend on what the dream is about…I had one early this morning. I woke up at 5am feeling good and realized “yay could sleep another two hours!” and between 5am and when my alarm went off at 7am i had this dream. I know i have had it at least twice before…one in australia and one in Europe that i can remember…might of happened more times but am not sure. It isn’t really a nightmare but it isn’t a nice dream…and when i did finally get up at 7am i felt so lethargic, tired and a bit sad even though at 5am when i had woken up i had thought “oh great, i am feeling good today” Any dream analysis people out there that want to analyze what all this means?

Time passes so quickly…

I thought I would be good at keeping a blog. I thought I would upload pictures regularly and write posts often enough to make it worthwhile…but almost a month has gone by and I didn’t do anything. So I am going to try and remedy that by updating it all tonight….

I have been so busy though, but maybe if I spend a couple of hours tonight, uploading pictures and letting everyone know what is going on (even though I have been so slack I haven’t even emailed anyone (except my mum and brother) to tell them I have a blog so technically the fact I haven’t updated it probably hasn’t disappointed anyone) ….I might even send out a group email telling everyone I actually have a blog!

Ok, well first a shower and some dinner is in order and then I will be back…..probably…

My random tastes…

Not quite sure if the above is going to work. I am sure i should be able to do it by importing the html, however it doesn’t seem like that is going to work…so i did a good old copy and paste. It seems like the easiest way to me…if it works. Well i will soon find out. This is just some of the music i have been listening to recently, my favourites at the moment are Alex Lloyd, Franz Ferdinand and Thirsty Merc. It’s mainly aussie music, with a bit of Japanese, British and American thrown in for good measure…

Shumpei is still sleeping and i saw a link to this site which enabled me to do the above…. www.hotfreelayouts.com so i thought why not give it ago…Might wake him up soon though…

Here’s to feeling better tomorrow!!!
